Well, I did some few more practice runs yesterday and while I couldn't beat my current score, it was a good way to shake off the rust.
I am confident I will be able to improve my current score quite a bit tonight.

A new day has dawned. The final round of the 2017 tournament continues! Here's what has happened so far...

Kickle makes a flashy appearance! Everyone's favorite contest mascot Kickle has made a completely clothed and thus-far non-lewd appearance to cheer everyone on! Contest legend Guillavoie commented on how classy Kickle looks in his suit. Murray of the Colorado Crew was also impressed with Kickle's new attire, calling him "adorable". However, not everyone was impressed as Bea_Iank feels that Kickle, sharply dressed or not, is still a "menace"!

Player Updates:
Speaking of the master game crusher herself, Bea has started off strong, posting a 1 million+ point score! As usual, she is disappointed in her score and insists that this is a 'terrible score'. She has also lamented that she will be unable to play as Luigi as the rules state you must play 1 player only.

In other news, Ninjistar and Bimmy Lee have been added to Bea's hit list! Apparently, Ninjistar made a fatal mistake when posting a "motivational" Mario animation of Mario stomping Goombas! It seems that Bea doesn't enjoy seeing "those cute, harmless Goombas" get smashed by Mario. Bimmy stepped into the line of fire as well when he suggested that contest cartoonist SuperJimtendo create a nice drawing of "Kicklepus" for Bea. Bea tells Bimmy "I like you, so I will kill you last"! We've got a Terminator on the loose!

Meanwhile, Brock "The Prodigy" Landers also posted his first score. While not quite a 7-digit debut, Brock's starting score of 645k+ puts him in second place for now!

Doug "The Bug" hasn't posted an official score yet, but states that he currently has a 300k score, which would put him in third place.

Puzzle master Arnpoly has yet to post a score, but has gained a fan club! Past contest participants skinnygrinny, Murray, and BriGuy82 have all joined Team Arn to cheer him on! Break out the pom poms!

Neither Tablew/chairs nor Red have posted at all thus far!

Final Thoughts:
What type of monster score will Bea post by the end of the week? Will Tables and Red duke it out with Bea for a top score and the title of 2017 NA Tournament Champion? Or will Arnpoly, Brock Landers, or Gloves rise to the top and win it all?! Will we all be waiting at the edge of our seats again this week as players grind out their scores behind closed doors?! We'll find out more tomorrow as the contest continues!

Scores are not something I grind behind closed doors. That is for other stuff! But let it be clear that I only grind pure and chaste stuff behind closed doors!  
And my current score is shameful, really. I made a huge amount of mistakes that cost me tons of points!
I hope to amend that in the next few days as I recover some of that muscle memory to stop being awful at SMB!

Finally, Kickle is only sharply dressed to lure in unsuspicious victims. He is a menace!

Meanwhile, I added some 40K points to my score, bringing it to 1,125,950.
I like where this is headed.

You can no death Adventure Island. This should be utterly trivial by comparison.
 

I am a bit rusty with my SMB muscle memory so I am missing on getting a fair bit of points due to poor timing, but I have till Sunday to fix that.
And I am pretty confident I will break 1.2 millions tomorrow.  
 

Yeah one thing being easier than another doesn't necessarily translate directly into "able to do better". Like I know 100% that I can beat Jamestown on PC on Judgement (hardest difficulty) without taking a single hit, but I'd have to do some practice to regain the muscle memory involved.
