Hey all, I'm a new user but old lurker. I just bought what seems to be a Boggle prototype for Game Boy at the flea market yesterday. The casing seems to be similar to other Game Boy prototypes I found online, and there's a remnant of a Boggle sticker on the front. When I load it up the title screen says "Boggle" not Boggle Plus like the retail release. And the copyright date is 1991, not 1992 like the retail version. Otherwise the game play seems the same as videos I've seen on YouTube. Here is a link to the protoype loading up:

Anyone have any information on this one? Thanks!

Why is part of the board being covered?

Looks like a piece of GB cartridge shell plastic was glued on top of the EPROM.

Yes, it is glued on. I noticed the other prototypes online have that space open. I'm assuming these shells were distributed to Game Boy developers? Here's more photos

Strange that they covered the EPROM that way. Maybe they thought it gave the cart a cleaner look? Too bad that the Boggle sticker was torn off, but still cool that the title was different even if the game is the same.

Nice find! Have you checked to see if this Proto has been dumped already online?
