Just won this on eBay. Paid about $7 total. A super cute one of a kind Super Mario Bros with hand drawn label. Some would see damaged goods. I see a unique work of art...

Code doesn't match the title. Weird.

Haha, you are right. I suspect the artist copied the SMB3 label.
http://famicomworld.com/workshop/...

HVC-SM = Super Mario Bros.
HVC-UM = Super Mario Bros. 3

Also there is no "1" in Super Mario Bros. That moniker is almost always retroactively applied to any series. Even "Star Wars: A New Hope" had the "Episode IV" subtitle retroactively applied to the opening credits.

MARIO SURER BROS. LOL, that's even better! I'm learning more about this label every time I look at it the photo. Can't much blame the guy or gal as Engrish was probably not their native language...

Also the label was drawn on graph paper!

I have a few of these, but the artwork is not nearly as good as yours.

Like a few others have said, I love these carts too. I also see them as art, and enjoy having them as part of my collection. If I ever dig mine out, I'll post them here.

Thanks Tracker, that would be great. It goes to show the care the Japanese take to make their games look nice and presentable. In the United States if a label were gone to the point where it was unrecognisable, the owner would probably just write the title over the torn or missing label area with a Sharpie.

I noticed there was a gap in my collection. I had Super Mario USA, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario Bros 2 Gold Medal (Lost Levels Bootleg). I got a Super Mario Bros 7" vinyl and actually framed the 21x14" poster art from the sleeve when unfolded. Anyway I had ever variation of the Super Mario Bros games for NES and lacked the Famicom variant of the original so I did a quick eBay search for "Super Mario Bros Famicom" by price and when I found that unique label, I fell in love with it.

It's obviously a fake. Look at the gradient where the marker bleeds on the right of the "1." I'm holding out for another real one to hit eBay.

Wow guys. So you took the label art from the eBay photo that JosephLeo ripped (presumably by using the trapezoid perspective tool thingy in GIMP or Photoshop), printed it out, and stuck it on a Famicom cart so you could do an unboxing? Unbelievable, you guys have a lot of free time...

I prmise to do an unbox and playtest on camera when I recieve it and put it in my AV Famicom and let you guys know exactly what's on this cart. I can only assume it's a Super Mario Bros JU ROM inside...

If you were considering flying to Japan to steal, backdoor, or bargain for it, you are too late. I got my ship notification this afternoon. That baby's mine... All mine!

That's the decoy/dummy/counterfeit. I only convinced the seller to let me backdoor you by giving advice on how to cheat his eBay obligations and paying enough extra to make it worth his while. The tracking tells me that it's all is going according to plan!

Yeah, some people get quite creative. I once saw a Zelda cart with a handmade label that had a pretty badass drawing of Link holding the Triforce.

Nice. Peeps need to post pics of these handmade art labels. I'd love to see more of them...
