Hey, I was just thinking of a couple minor things that would make life easier.  It'd be nice to receive an email every time a new PM is received.  I have gmail with the near instant notifier so it'd help me in answering them quicker.  I already have about 3 emails to check so it'd combine a couple for me.

It'd also be nice to have an option with the email subscription to different categories, to be able to only receive emails when a NEW topic is made rather than every time someone posts something commenting on the topic.  It begins to feel like spam the way it currently is and I'd subscribe to more categories if the additional option was made.

And to add one thing I have been thinking about: It would be nice to know when someone opens the PM that you sent them.Sort of a little message that says PM recived by "xxxxx" So that you know your PM got through and was recived.

All good ideas, guys -- the first one Sosafan mentioned in already in the works. The "return receipt" for PMs was mentioned a long time ago, and I'm not sure I want this. It almost crosses the "invasion of privacy" line. Personally, I don't like systems doing things that I'm unaware of, and this would be one of those cases -- the other user wouldn't know that you know that he read it.

I forgot to mention -- the second suggestion from Sosafan2 is a good one. I've put it on my list of forums mods to add.

Well then you obviously need a return return receipt. So then you know that he knows you read it.

Or, you could just do a return receipt receipt. So he knows that you know he read it.

BTW, I added a PM email notification to the site. Just go to My Home, and next to your avatar, you'll see a "My Notifications" link. That's the only option in there right now, but I'll be adding more as we go.
