Project y is now Paprium.
Paprium is going to be two player's, it will also come on a 80megabit cart just like Pier Solar, extra space for more content.

www.Paprium.com... is now active and pre order's will be starting soon.  http://www.magicalgamefactory.com... is also a good place to stay up to date with new info.

Two editions of the game will be available to non backers, the limited edition(like the investor version minus a few thing's like the combbook, nice sturdy strong cardboard like the first edition of Pier Solar) and the classic edition. (clamshell like the Pier Solar reprint) A limited six button arcade still will also be available in limited quantities to the public.

Here is also a teaster that was released in 2015, a new trailer will be release soon to help jump start preorder's.

I will update this post as i get new information but here are a bunch of pictures from Paprium and project n.

I remember investing in this circa 2013 iirc. Nice to know a copy will show up "free" one of these days...feels free when you forgot about paying for it years ago, haha.

Genesis is obviously easier to program for then the SNES; the Project N RPG-type of game was launched at the same time and hasn't been updated in like 2-3 years, while this Genesis release is about to open for pre-orders.

They had to work on a new chip for project N first, but both project's were set back due to a few sprite artists leaving partway. So many thing's happened over the years but we are getting close to that game being released as well.

Some information about the chip is in this video but not much.

I made a post here with everything known about Paprium so far, take a look and maybe join the forum's if you think you would enjoy it. http://www.magicalgamefactory.com...;

I just found out the game is 80 megabit. https://mobile.twitter.com/waterm...

The release date has been leaked from an online article in france.

http://www.jeuxvideo.com/news/629291...mega-drive.htm

It's saying it'll be released September 16, 2017.

Pier Solar is 64 megabit (it's an 8MB rom), Paprism is 80 megabit (10MB) which is the largest the Genesis can handle due to address spaces of the 32x and Sega CD. You could go past these boundaries I believe, but it won't work with the devices connected (amongst other issues I'm sure).

Also, I wouldn't say the Genesis is overall easier to program. Remember, the snes has a lot of hardware to do things easier (scaling, rotation, opacity, etc, more colors), so doing the same effects on the Genesis is more difficult. It all depends on what you're doing. There's a reason why Pap is 10MB and took 4+ years to develop. Not all of it was Fonz's drama

Paprium? That's the name they've been holding out on telling us for years now? They should have just left it Project Y. lol I'm glad to see it finally getting released anyway. I remember when fonz told everyone the game was going to take about a year to finish. It was Pier Solar all over again. I'll pick one up when the plastic clamshell release is available.

Looking at all the screenshots and art I'd rather call it Purpleum.

The confident and distinct palette is probably the most appealing thing about these shots, honestly.

Gen has a C compiler available, and not just any C compiler but the latest GCC. SNES has a buggy POS toy that can't be used for anything beyond hello world, requiring programming in asm.

The game looks great, but the title sounds like something you might need to see your urologist about...

Oh, in case nobody knew this, if you go to http://www.paprium.com/... and click the last link "What is this?", you can enter the Secret Contest #2, which ends when the HEX clock reaches 0 (the 28th).

Email's, the MGF forums  from Fonzie posting himself and if you look at the factory page here you will see the clambox stuff as well.

Nintendoage has been my second home since 2012 and my first is the magical game factory.

By the way check out Paprium.com at 7:00pm or 8:00pm est time depending if he counted daylight savings time for the trailer tomorrow, it is midnight for GMT and for where ever Fonzie is that is the time he picked for the trailer.

I wish i knew, i think it is a mistake and just a mirror of Paprium.

After more than 4 epic years of development, WaterMelon Games is proud to present its new 16-Bit game: PAPRIUM (code-name: "ProjectY"), a postapocalyptic, outrageous, street brawler. PAPRIUM has been crafted at WM's Magical Game Factory using Investor’s votes and suggestions. PAPRIUM has been developed by a team driven by true passion and 16-Bit excellence.
Year 8A2, somewhere at equidistant point between Shanghai, Tokyo and Pyongyang, a Megapolis rose from ashes of the shortest but most devastating nuclear war in history, its name is PAPRIUM. BRUTAL, MASSIVE. You will fight your way through the city with Tug, Alex and Dice. Redefine the word justice, deal with the BLU drug temptation, and more importantly: STAY ALIVE!

Nothing's too grand for the ultimate Mega Drive/Genesis game:
Size Shock: 80-MEG, +24 Levels, +5 Playable Characters!
Speed Shock: Uncompromized 60fps advanced 16-bit visuals.
   Sound Shock: 48Khz x 24 channels (FM, PSG, DT128M16VA1LT).

No detail has been compromized:

1 or 2 simultaneous player gameplay.
   Multiple game modes.
Three save slots for a unseen-before brawler size.

PAPRIUM is available for pre-order in two outstanding editions:

LIMITED edition, available in three regions (Japanese, Usa, Europe).
CLASSIC edition, black clamshell box with black grid design.

Each edition includes the original 80-MEG game cartridge, a full color instruction manual, quality box, multiple goodies and extras. Game is compatible with both PAL and NTSC original Mega Drive / SEGA Genesis game system. Game is region-lock free.
