Basically, it's a FPGA cart that's a Sega CD, 32x, MegaDrive, Master System, etc. 

It's at 'bout $280+, which is more than a Sega CD, however the inevitable death of the lasers does make this quite interesting. Also supports the SMS's FM, which also sounds pretty sweet.

I will pick one up eventually I have been pretty happy with my NeoSD and Super SD Sysyem 3. I also would rather not be a beta tester and pick one up in the fall.

Stoneage gamer did mention a possible trade in program for those of us with Mega Everdrives so I may wait for that.

Sometimes it is better to wait it out in case of anything happens with the first batch. I think Icr hearing about the Super SD System 3 had problems fitting certain consoles, but they fixed it later on(?)

Now instead of having to buy Sega Genesis you can pay $500 for an FPGA Genesis, FPGA CD, and flash cart for the authentic experience of real hardware instead of emulators   I keed, but seriously if I wasn't going to use original carts and I wasn't going to use original hardware I would totally just emulate.

Sweet, I didn't know about this. I'm a big fan of Terraonion after the Super SD System 3 for the PCE.

Dude, the enhanced CD audio options for Genesis games... that's pretty cool. Not sure how many games supported this, Pier Solar and a hack of Sonic 1 to use CD audio come to mind, but it's nice that they've added that function.

Wondering how the 32X enhanced Sega CD games would play out on it. Probably fine, even though there were only a small handful of those games.

Wonder if this in anyway helps with loading times on Willy Beamish!!

Updated first post with video with a lot of great information on it. I was wrong in thinking the CD32X games would work, but that's fine. Like I said before, there were only a handful. 32X works, but you still need to attach it to the Genesis.

Some things I'd like to reiterate/point out from the video: there's some cool info about the PCM and CDDA audio. PCM seems a bit cleaner than the original, but that also makes the "popping" noise a bit more pronounced, while the CD tracks seem to sound a bit cleaner (at least to my ears) on the Sega CD rather than the MegaSD. If y'all want to listen, check the video out with headphones. I guess it's good to note that a lot of the ISOs would need .mp3s to run together in order for them to work, and .mp3s aren't always gonna sound as clean as audio coming from a CD. So this can just be a problem with the differences in media (bitrates, compression, lossless blah blah, etc), rather than the hardware running the media.

Also mentioned in the video, I'd like to point out that Virtua Racing does not work on it despite the shell being modeled after it. lol

I've captioned the Terra Onion FPGA Direct MegaSD Reveal video for anyone having trouble with it but I'm not sure how to share it without stepping on their toes. Should I reupload? Wish they would have just enabled user generated captions!
