A quick summary. My girlfriend had cancer im her teens and early 20's so she spent most of her time in and out of the hospital and never got her license. Now she is looking to and I'm wondering if she needs to still get a permit as a first time driver or if she can skip eight to a license?

I think when you're older than 18 you can just take the test. It's 16-18 where you need the learners permit and X hours of training.

Not in PA, but my wife was an adult when she got her license. Took a class in town and took the test and passed. I don't think the class is required, but if your gf doesn't know the rules of the road or how to do things properly, a class is really helpful and a safer choice overall.

On a more serious note, I've played EarthBound today for so long, I feel all tense and mentally worn out.
Then you called your mother and felt better?

In PA it's 3 or 4 weeks after you get your permit if you're over 18. Under 18 they make you wait a year.
