Five Below has Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer for $5, trades in at $7 + $5 bonus, at least it did yesterday.

I didn't have much, but I took my doubles in to GS for trade. I can confirm that they will take the games as disc only, and they will take them even if they are in really rough shape. I had an old rental Final Fantasy VII with scratches and rental stickers on the disc, with no case or manual. I also had a really rough shape Chrono Cross. They took them with no issues. They charged me a refurbish fee on one of my Wii games, but they didn't charge anything for the PS1 games (which is in line with what others have said).

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I want to sincerely thank the OP for this thread! I just ran to Gamestop over my lunch break and effortlessly got $170+ store credit for a bunch of common/semi-commons.

I got close to market value for them and gone in seconds.

I encourage everyone to take the time to go through their stash. I haven't even sifted through my current gen stuff yet, damnit I need to resist the urge to blow it on a PSVR lmao.

P.S. - My pro account had expired but the guy let me use the trade in to renew, and gave me the bonus trade-in 10% so it was an absolute killer deal (basically got paid to upgrade to Pro).

I haven't been to GameStop in years and don't follow on what they are doing. Do they accept common SNES, NES and etc games?

Yep they do, although to get the $5 bonus the game needs to have a trade-in value of at least $2.  On gamestop.com in the upper right corner there is a link for looking up trade-in values.

Pretty dope deal, it's coming out to ~90% GVN prices on most titles that qualify.  Also they don't distinguish between complete and cart/disc only.  My biggest hit was Wii/Wii U.

Followup question: Do they take all or most NES games (whether over $2 or not)? I searched for a bunch of titles, and only got NES results for a couple of them. Unless I'm missing something, this probably wouldn't be worth it for me.

No, they only take retro titles that show up in your search.

Has anyone tried to trade in their current Switch for the new version with better battery life and got the $200+$25 additional credit? Any problems at the store? GS had the new version in stock?

I should have $250 credit at Gamestop by Saturday and I don't know what to buy. I'm really kinda feel like waiting until they have a used sale. For games that Gamestop carries I still need The Surge, Hollow Knight, RE4, Nier GOTY, Spiderman, Sekiro, God of War, and Bloodstained. But I'm not going to play my PS4 ganes until next year so why not wait until they're cheaper. I wonder if Gamestop will still be in business when the PS5 is released.

Ok just so i understand it right. If bring 10 games lets say all NES titles and they worth lets say $3 then its $30 for 10 games + $5 extra on each game? So $30 + $50?...

Yep!  Although my few remaining NES commons did not show up in the search...I was surprised Dragon Warrior 1 was not even listed in their search tool.  Seems they only take in the more in-demand titles.

Their Genesis deals are actually pretty good for cart only.  I ended up getting almost $9 trade in value for a loose sonic & knuckles for example.

Thanks for this by the way.   I still have Elite Pro, so I got 13.40 trade for that, 8.60 for Zelda Triforce Heroes, and 7.40 for Yo-Kai Watch.

Last two may not be worth it to make the Five Below trip by themselves, but if you're already there for Animal Crossing why not?

Just make sure you look them up on GameStop.com, they need to have a trade value over $2 to qualify for the extra $5.

I took my old switch in today and got the $200+$25 and also traded in a bunch of PSX games I'll never play and got the $5 extra on each since they were all valued over $2. The associate transferred my game data over in the store. Although I called another and they said they wouldn’t transfer the data so call ahead and make sure. I ended up paying $30 for a brand new upgraded switch model with no hassle at all.

edit: this was all done on the same receipt as well.

Look them up on the site first. It's hit and miss.

I no longer have convenient locations as most of them closed. (There is one that's not that far, but it's not in an area I typically visit.) Any way, is there a way to find out online, if they want what I have, so I don't have to waste a trip? (I was thinking of taking my loose GBA scrap and trading it in. Think 100s of Lizzie McGuires, Raven, Petz, Catz, etc.)

Yes, you can look up trade values on their site.   Don't bother taking anything showing less than a $2 base trade in value, as those are the only ones that get the $5 bonus.

Also, they'll only take one of each title at a time, and I doubt they take any of those GBA scrap games in the first place.    I haven't found any games they sell cheaper than 9.99 used that they pay at least $2 for.

You get a little bit more money for each game if you have pro. It's 14.99 for the year so if your trading a lot it maybe worth it. Deal should still be going, game needs to have a trade value of $2 or more to qualify for the extra $5

edit: tomorrow is the last day for that deal according to the GS website.
