Thanks guys on the price details

@Lando452-- that Legend of Zelda cart is boss. I really like the look of a gold 5-screw. It makes it feel a bit more like an actual brick of gold.

Hi Hybrid, Laketown04 hooked me up with some of his 5 screw doubles. I now have Skate or Die, Contra, and Track and Field 2. Also, I got silent service a while back. Let me know if you need anything else from me. Thanks,

Know any NES cartridge variants that I don't have on this list?

Let me know if you have confirmed any that I need to add! Thanks!

Also, please note I no longer have 3 TMNT 5 screws. I only have 2 and laketown04 has the 3rd that it appears is already listed on the site.

Its ONLY a 5 screw variant that way. These are onlly for top tier rares, or ones only a handful have been found (like the Konami/Ultra carts).  Super Pitfall falls short of the mark.

Hi! Just wanted to share my few NES oddities / variants with you. I too have a Top Gun with an upside down label. I also have an Athena with what looks like a double label, but I think it is more a printing error.

nice this is the first lisenced upside down label with multiple instences for NES that I know of.
your Athena is quite interesting I was wondering if you had pictures of the rest of the label to me it does not look like a double label.

Of course, no problem. I think it is a printing error too. It doesn't look like a double label to me either. I did try to "scratch" it to see if there was a label there and it doesn't seem so.

Realized now there is a v3 thread (had the old v2 thread book marked and had posted there). Updating to have it on the current thread.

IIRC, it's a game which didn't have a regular 5 screw version in circulation but had one made by Nintendo when someone sent in a cart on a warranty issue.  In those  cases, the 5 screw version is incredibly rare (sometimes possibly the only one in existence) since it was essentially hand-made by whoever was working on the warranty claim.

Need Stadium Events + Panesian titles, 6-in-1's, Menace Beach, Moon Ranger & Secret Scout to complete my licensed/unlicensed sets.

If you've got any of the above for sale, hit me up!

You're almost correct. I don't like the term factory mismatch. These refurbished carts don't come from Nintendo but from Kanomi who published games using the ultra name. Their main characteristics are like you stated a 5 screw game which should not exist and are missing the back label. Some people believe they maybe some sort of demo.

Learn something new every day! I always called them factory mismatch, but I guess its more proper to just say they are a 5-screw mismatch instead  . Did not know they (might) of been used as demos

I didn't think all were Ultra, though?  In this case, sure, but aren't there some which weren't Konami/Ultra?

This is the case with at least one known version of the 5 screw Mega Man, and the 3 screw Donkey Kong Jr Math.  I would even say this would be the case with 5 screw RC Pro Am and 3 screw Stingers as well.

Has this been proven that the 5 screws were refurbs by Konami?  It seems awfully strange.  Also there are still a few Konami games that 5 screw 'demo' carts have not been found.  I got a list I made but I dunno where it is on my comp right now.

There's no real consensus on what these carts are. I've heard some people call them demo some people call them refurbs.

I call them Kanomi/Ultra 5 screw oddities in this list

There is a non-HT Stinger Box out there, so it's a full on legit variant.

3-Screw DK Math, and 5-Screw R.C. Pro-Am freak me out though.

Got any of these for sale? Sell them to me. I also buy other NES Publisher inserts, and even GB/GBC, and SNES inserts too.
