The boxes I would rank as 7.5 to 7.8 out of 10, both are shelf-worthy but possess light edge wear and a couple of lesser flaws. On the Double Dragon, there is a 14 mm tear on one of the base tabs. There's also some light scuff marks which show up on the back 'black face' of the box. Thirdly, you might see the occasional faint stress mark or indent if you tilt some of the sides towards the light.
As for the Ninja Gaiden 2 box, there's some bowing to the bottom surface and some bulging to the front face. Small dent ripple to the lower left-hand corner. Front face has a 6 mm nick/cardboard wear area, above the word "Dark" (just noticed this for the first time)
Other than the flaws mentioned, both titles have pretty good eye-appeal with no stickerage, writing, or other high levels baddies of that nature. I will mention one final eccentricity to these guys--neither of these boxes prefer to free-stand. They seem to do best leaning slightly against other games or trees, waiting for wayward opponents.

Both cartridges are clean with full front and back labels, showing only the most miniscule of wear from normal use. Both have been tested to play and each time I was punched right through the screen (ouch)

Now listen up, because this Double Dragon manual is a deceptive mother. It "appears" to be Very Good from the outside, with straight edges, binding staple intact, and just a touch of left-hand edge wear. However, if I turn to the very first inside page, there's a piece the size of my thumb missing from the top right-hand corner of that page. It takes a few words out of the Double Dragon story, and for this I think the manual should be dropped down to a grade of "Good." Everything else seems intact though, no writing or unsightly folds.
For the Ninja Gaiden 2 manual I would say it is in superb Very Good+ to Like New condition; no tears, dog-ears, writing, or other major anomalies.
A word on the Tecmo advertisement poster. On a visual inspection I'd call this one Very Good+. There's no tape, tears, discoloration or stains. Seems like it was looked at once or twice and then put away for safe keeping. Note however, I do notice a slight musty odor on this item from basement storage, so you may want to take this into consideration if you use your nose on purchases.
And there you have it, get yourself some two-fisted action at an affordable price. Four-fisted even. What else are you going to buy instead of these two CIBs, a sword from a Bud K catalog? Ancient master says that is the path to regret!
