Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests!  This week’s game is going to be Tecmo Bowl.  If we can get at least 40 participants this week, I will give away a Super Mario Bros 3 hack, Super Wario Bros 3, courtesy of EgasKrad.  Again, this will only be given away if we reach at least 40 participants, so make sure to get your scores in this week for a chance to win.  Here are the rules:
 
  • 1 player only
  • Choose whichever team you want
  • You must play a complete game
  • Take your picture on the final results screen (the screen that looks like a newspaper and shows the final score)
  • Your score will be the differential between your score and the computer’s score
  • Ex: You 35 CPU 14 = score of 21
  • Ex: You 14 CPU 35 = score of -21
  • In the event of a tie, the greater number of points scored by you in the 1st quarter will break the tie.  If a tiebreaker is still needed, the greater number of points scored by you in the 2nd quarter will break that tie.
  • No making successful passes in your own zone (that is the touchdown zone of your opponent).  This causes you to get a touchdown.  Anyone suspected of doing this to rack up their score will have their score disqualified.
  • Greatest differential between your score and the computer wins.  A positive score takes preference over a negative score
  • GENRE: Sports
 
The contest ends Sunday, 3/22/15 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

I used to spend all day playing this game. Often after a Niners loss to an opposing team that was also on Tecmo Bowl,I'd play as the Niners and exact video game revenge.

I'm sure it can be done,but to even get to my score you have to have a few things go right,like the computer not punting or if they do,they shank it. Those long punts are the worst and drain so much clock. I'll try to see if I can improve on this,but like I said,I'll have to get a few breaks.

I can serve a beat down on any team,with any team,but it's easier to use teams like San Francisco,Chicago,Washington,New York,and Los Angeles and play against Dallas,Indianapolis,Cleveland,and Seattle.

I knew I wouldn't do so hot the first few weeks,but this three game stretch of Kung Fu,Tecmo Bowl,and Ninja Gaiden are in my wheelhouse as I had all three growing up and all three were very heavily played.

I will be using Bo even though he is only in one of the run plays.

Just curious, not that I predict this happening but what happens if it's a tie at 91 with 21 scored in the first two quarters

Nope. Just one game. On a side note,trying to boost my score but there's really no room for error. Had a really promising run derailed in the 3rd when I only got 14 points.
