Hello everyone!

Almost a year ago, there was an ill-fated, limited, cart release of a modified version of Solar Wars that was offered up here on NA.  It didn't go well for various reasons, but that isn't the focus of this thread.

I was a really bummed, as I wanted to own a creator authorized/supported physical copy of this game, but couldn't bring myself to support it as presented.  This led me to get in contact with Chris Covell and Memblers to see if they would let me do a release myself.  They agreed, and here we are.

The point of this thread is to get an interest check on who would like to purchase a copy, and to see if there is a preference for cart only, or CIB release (cart only will be cheaper, of course).

This thread will be used to determine how many I will make, and no more will be made after that (unless Chris or Joe request it for some reason).
I will only charge what it costs to make/ship these - if there happens to be any profit, it will go back to Chris and/or Joe.
I understand that things happen, but if you say you want to purchase/reserve here, please be prepared to do so when they are ready.
There will be a delay between when I cut off "reservations" and when the copies will be completed.  I will try to keep everyone updated, and no money will be collected until they are finished.

Any other questions, please feel free to ask!

Here is a video of the gameplay from youtube:

You can play with two players, or play both players by yourself XD

There is no computer AI option.

Despite lack of options, this is one of -THE- original NES homeberws, and was only available on Garage Cart in a sanctioned capacity, I believe.

It would appear you are correct, according to the wiki!

Thank you for pointing that out

I'd be interested in this one. It's about time for it to see an endorsed release.

I was originally going to vote CIB, but then decided to go with cart only, as that's how it would have been released back in the day, most likely.

Frankly I'd not buy it, as I'd not play it. No way I convince my wife to play the most basic possible version of Worms.

If I WERE to buy it, I'd want it to be CIB, and for the manual to include history on the development and stuff.

Too simple a game for me though, at the end of the day. Trying to avoid buying too much shelf-sitters these days.

I'm in for a CIB. Or cart. Prefereably CIB.

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

Watching the gameplay makes me really miss the QBASIC version of Gorillas:

This, along with QBASIC Nibbles, is what got me interested in programming as a kid

Oh, I completely respect that.

I doubt I'll play it much either, honestly. It's more about giving one of the earliest homebrews that works on a cartridge it's own authorized release finally... even if it's just a handful of copies to folks on here

Silly?.. maybe... but I've been known to do silly things.

Yeah man I totally appreciate what you're doing. I'll wish you the best of luck and all, even as a non-buyer.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as Gloves. Mainly because I have the A53V2 cart. I try not to double dip if i can help it. So I didn't vote; I'd go CIB if I were interested tho.

Also in the "not a game for me" boat, but I wanted to say you that I appreciate what you are doing here. Bringing a new authorized cart, non-profit, for those who want it, that is awesome and super kind.

I feel like I remember there being another small "official" release of this game, I'm sure Beau would know. While I support the game 100% I'm also in the same boat as others. It's been out for a long time, released in different forms, freely available, no need to buy another version of it. There is enough new stuff to keep me scrounging for shelf space. I've been disheartened lately as some of the bigger homebrew distributors have been snatching up old free games and doing releases. Not sure why, but it has been rubbing me the wrong way. Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy lol.
