I love it. I would say it is not for everyone though. If you like difficult platformers with twitch reflexes and pattern memorization, then it is for you. The difficulty is high, but you are given unlimited continues and there are often check points.

A lot of people compare Battle Kid to Mega Man, but I think it shares just as much or more with Bucky O Hare.

Many people say this, but I don't really see it to that extreme. For me, the big idea of Mega Man is beating bosses to get their ability to then use it against other bosses/enemies as their weakness. Pick the order of stages to exploit weaknesses.

Bucky O Hare, rescue your friends on different stages to then switch to them in stages to get past the platforming obstacles.

Similarities: A platforming shooter with a stage select screen.

Did Captain Bucky O'Hare ever smile?   Seems like he always had that angry frowning look...not exactly the kind of guy you'd want to kick back with and have some cold ones with, huh?

Ya I’m just a Capcom guy so I was kinda trashing Konami.

It does have tight control. But the platforming/stage design is just ok imo. And the different characters select seemed idk gimmicky(?) you can use Bucky for most of the game until your forced to use one of the other characters.

Not a bad game but it is overrated imo

It does feel like a "try and die" type of approach to parts.  First time you enter a new area, seems like you are expected to die a couple times before you "do it right."  Unlimited continues and lots of check points make things more forgiveable and cut down on fustration.  Fun title.

I'm a big fan, and it's one of those titles I actively sought to get a copy of. Really hoping to record it for the channel one day, but have to get better at it first.

I had fun with it. Switching characters is a game mechanic that Megaman doesn't have. Some of the platform sections are pretty tough.
