Sure is. Probably the most of Bubble Bobble I've ever played in such short time.

Score 1.366.750 Round 61 (Sweet! Not my highest score, but I sure did get far, actually managed to make it all the way to round 30 before having my first death. Got past round 43 with no problems this time without losing any of my lives for a first, and played round 57 flawlessly, knew I could. The round I had trouble with for some odd reason was 59 (the one with the FA10 stenciled into the large center block), wind current was so fast and the enemies burst out of the bubbles as soon as I put 'em in there, lost 3 lives on this looks can be deceiving round, and by the time I got to 61 I didn't have any lives to work with, couldn't figure out how to encase the two laser guys in the nook of each arm of the big block version of them):

Score 1401.640 Round 59:

Score 1.518.960 Round 61 (Woo-hoo! Gettin' there, kicking some serious ass now...I think)

Score 1.339.230 Round 61:

Score 1.546.260 Round 64 (Even better still, narrowing that gap a little more. Damn water bubble got me killed in this stage.):

Score 1.517.860 Round 62 (fell back a little, but I'll certainly pick myself back up again):

Score 1.550.010 Round 62 (I struggled with it, but got my highest score up to this point):

Oh, I'm sure you may be capable of higher scores, just takes practice. First time I played and beat this game was during a rental, tough, must've had hundreds of deaths, maybe even that many continues, next time is when I first owned the game in one of my earlier collections, beat it then too, and then fast forward to 2007, I finally start really playing the one in my current collection. Look at those miserable scores I started with, and sure didn't get far into the rounds either, I think I come a long way on skill with this game, I just keep getting better. I really like contests like these sometimes, gives me that innitiative to play something that I haven't put much time into before, and while in normal situations I'm not at all competitive, when it comes to NES games, especially ones that I know I can do well with, I just gotta give it my all to get up there and try to beat, or at least give the competitors some challenge, and with a few of us having somewhat close scores, makes it really exciting too. I'm still behind, but I'm getting better, edging my way up there, I know what I'm supposed to do in most of the rounds I've played through, just gotta keep from making so many mistakes in one play. And I like that I'm having not reached the highest score yet, that I'm actually having some difficulty catching up, makes me feel like I'm really working for this, that way, whereever I stand in the end, I'll feel I earned my place. But I'm looking to win.

Well, 4 more games earlier...

Score 1.362.660, Round 57 (I was screwing up really bad in this game, surprised I even did that well, lost 4 lives by round 20):

Score 1.332.240, Round 60 (my game is still off, not sure what the hell is going on with me):

Score 1.412.560, Round 58 (okay, that's more like it):

Score 1.714.900, Round 71 (BAM! Take that! Finally, in the lead):

Not done, figuring that I could do even better I played some more games of it, plus wanted to reinforce my high score with another higher score.

Score 1.623.830 Round 61 (close, but not my highest anymore):

Score 1.491.200 Round 62 (ouch, had a little bit of trouble this time):

Score 1.810.150 Round 71 (my new highest score, going to be tough for me to top that myself):

And to think, I used to suck at this game. Somehow with this contest and all the Bubble Bobble playing I've done I've found a new love for another game that I really didn't pay much attention to before. Every once in a while something like this happens, I suddenly are impulsed to play the hell out of something, may've not really cared enough about the game before, then when I start getting good at it, I find that I'm suddenly wanting to continue to do even better, therefore find myself getting addicted to it. This happened with MagMax, City Connection, Kung Fu, and Marble Madness just to name a few similar old style arcade type games, and now Bubble Bobble.

I want to see more scores from others, how come barely anyone's posting 'em, anyone else besides the few that have put their scores up playing this? Or are you all just holding out for that winning score?

I'm still trying! Just found out we have to work some insane overtime the next two weeks though, so I will have to seriously limit how much I get to play this weekend or my fiance will not be happy!

Damn. I thought for sure we'd be battling for the top score with the comment you made on the other related topic regarding roms being allowed, guess I thought you meant this game when you told Jeremy to have patience.

I suck with using the keyboard as well. I should've competed in the SMB and Donkey Kong Jr. ones, my scores wouldn't have been the highest but still would've been pretty good, instead of having my PS connected then, so I missed those ones. Tetris I only posted one score even though I played a bit of it then, my scores were the lowest anyway just like with Dr. Mario, not good at all with those type of games no matter how much I play them.

OK, so someone needs to send Robin a retroport I guess...

Either that, or we need to have an NWC contest. I know for sure he's got that cart!

Just played a game a little while ago, was seriously going to attempt to beat my score again, but halfway through my game my mom came home from work, plus my brother woke up, I had to turn the volume down, tv came on, my brother's mouth was running, thought for sure I was going to have this beat, was doing really good until the distractions, oh well.

Still did well though, still making it to round 71, this stage is killer to beat.

Score 1.448.890 Round 71:

Tried a few more times, was on a roll this game, made it into the 80's. There is some insanely hard levels to beat 1p in the high 70's low 80's but I managed to pull it off.. Anyway, managed this score

0

If one of you guys beats that I give up, because that was a pain in the ass and I don't think I'll be doing it again any  time soon....

Damn, you are one tough cookie to beat, I dunno, I'm looking at that score and I'm thinking, I may not be able to top that. And I didn't even get to get my name on the first post showing I had the highest score for the short time that I held that honor, darn it. You're kick ass, don't matter which of us wins this, whoever does sure did earn it.
