Not til early Jan is my understanding. I'm sure Deniz will announce

-------------------------

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

Following the auctions. I see theres a loose Zelda LTTP at CHB of $3. With Buyers premium that makes it already $22. I would love to have it for my Zelda collection. Just trying to wrap my head around seeing graded common loose games now. I suppose
sending in my own games would be the thing I should do. Really want some WATA stuff in my collection.

graded loose common makes no sense, I agree. But the auctions will be fun to follow.   Per Deniz the lesser consignments are front loaded.   The better stuff is later (I think they have two months worth of weekly auctions planned out)

A bunch of really nice stuff is coming in the next lot next week and it’s building from there. By the end, you should see some really amazing pieces.

While we have no control over what is graded and what is consigned, I can tell you with certainty that the first week of auctions is going to contain the lowest-value items, primarily to let people get used to the auctions and listings. As the weeks progress you will see more and more quality items listed, and AFAIK there are no other loose cartridges slotted from now until the Signatures that aren't significantly higher in value. Part of the decision to include those in the first auctions was fueled by wanting to allow newcomers to see the different possibilities in grading, i.e. loose cartridges (so that when a SE comes up in the Signatures it's not a surprise).

Now down the line you may see a 9.8 Zelda cartridge, and that could be an entirely different story. Having had a combined 1,000+ NES Zelda carts pass through my own, Kenneth's, and our graders' hands, we agree that none of us have likely seen a true 9.8 or maybe not even a 9.6. Seeing those unused CIBs that came from case-fresh copies, or even opening cheap sealed games, you will start to notice that the cartridges inside are not always Mint--things happen at the factory level that are beyond the end-user's control. While the cartridge within your sealed copy of a game is likely very nice, it is not necessarily Mint. To find a truly Mint cartridge is quite a feat, and it would probably draw a premium, even if for a run-of-the-mill game (just like modern comics that are worthless but jump up once they hit 9.8).

Dan and Wayde -- thanks for shedding light on that before I had the chance to respond!

Very interesting way of looking at it. I see it differently now.

So I signed up for an HA account. Set up my billing etc. Bid on some things to understand the UI and delivery of being outbid (text messaging, email), current status on auctions etc. I am pretty impressed. Well run site.

With an annual revenue of nearly 1 Billion dollars, you'd hope they have a nice site

What you've done is exactly the point of these first auctions, allowing those new to HA to get their footing with the interface and those new to video games to get familiarized with what they're buying. Great to hear, Benjamin!

I plan to sign up and put in some bids. Hopefully the transition to Canada isn't too painful.

Can you shim public? Would be interested to know.
Also, when shipping stuff, is it HA.com who decide what stuff will be "normal sales" and what will be "signature sales"?

Not sure what you mean by your first question, but regarding the signatures, HA decides what is Signature material essenrtially based on a value threshold. Because they are still familiarizing themselves with values on more obscure stuff or specific prints that command a higher value, they are receiving a little guidance for now on what would meet that threshold.

It's not too bad. It's been a while but I think you have to have an international shipping instruction form on file. Takes two seconds to fill out but it does have to be done after you win for the first time IIRC

Yeah, I'd say. $175 and counting for a decent (6.5 grade) Mario 3 CIB? Surely this cannot last forever with the common stuff, but the rare/excellent condition market might have changed forever. I'm excited to see how the premium market items go!

Holy crap, just saw the sealed Zelda Classic series.

No different than 2011/2012 where a crap game in Gold VGA grades went for 5-6x time raw value.  It was ridiculous there for a little while.  Congrats to the sellers but you wonder if the winning bidders really know what they're going after.  Or on the flip side, $100 here and there to learn about a new hobby really isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Sealed dragon warrior at 660 and sealed classic series Zelda at 3300 seemed like the biggest wins for the consignor (Josh?)

I just can't imagine paying a 20% buyers premium on top of that. Yikes!
