Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests!  This week's game is going to be Twin Cobra.  Here are the rules:

  • Play until Game Over
  • Take your picture on the Continue screen.  You are not allowed to continue to the game.
  • If you beat the game, be ready to take your picture after your bonus points are tallied up on Stage 10.
  • Highest score wins
  • Participation: 50,000
  • GENRE: Shooter/Shoot 'Em Up

The contest ends Sunday, 9/10/17 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

The music on this one is annoying!
But I need to put on effort on it to challenge the old new Guy.
I will try to have a score up by the evening.

Power is out here in my area of Toronto, so I dunno if I'll get a chance to play today. Surely sometime this weekend though, and through the week. No way Toronto stays without power for too long.

This game reminds me of other good shooters like Raiden Trad and 1943, and you can actually power up your weapon. It's much better than Star Force as well as significantly easier.

I've only reached the fourth stage in my practice (not using continues). But I expect the resident shooter pros who can beat Star Force to have no issue beating this without dying.

Skinny's been MIA for a week and now the power is out in your area of Toronto? Is winning shooter gold this week also part of Bea's Evil master plan?

Do you have a favorite weapon? I just keep powering up the regular shot until it's a big spread.

That was very kind of you, Bea. This is one of the nicest communities that I've encountered in my years on the net.

BTW, I had the eye straightening surgery as a baby. Then I had to wear a patch. I still have the lazy eye and worse vision in my right eye.

So, I... uhh... just beat the game with 2 deaths and the score remains up for about a second after the final tallying up.
Looks like I will be playing again to take the picture of my score...
I might actually take it before the final tallying up just so I don't miss it.

DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT!
So close yet so far.

Managed to do a bit better. I think I got all the Ps, so now it is a matter of being able to kill more enemies than the old new guy and Skinny.
This will be tough and a close one.

I believe I left quite a few P bonuses in the stages, but eh, I managed to no death it. And recorded a small video to capture the screenshot of the final tally.
It will be the best way to get it if you do beat the game, just like it was with Contra.

After beating the game it should still show your high score at the top of the screen. No need for a video capture.

EDIT: Or does it not go back to the title screen? I don't know. I've never made it past stage 4.

It goes to a broken engrish screen and a the end screen about 1 second after the points are tallied up.
