Every gaming forum has one so might as well make ours now Which is the best in your own opinion. Not which sold the best or what others think are the best but in your own love for the game, you liked the very most.

Mine is hands down A Link to the Past with Twilight trailing right behind it. I was very impressed with Twilight. I loved every minute of the gameplay but LttP was what really did it for me and got me hooked on the series.

I didn't care at all for the Wind Waker. Not a bad game but just wasn't impressed. Heck, I own it and still haven't cared to even beat it yet.

Hmm.....polls aren't an option yet. So here's the list:

Legend of Zelda
Link's Adventures
A Link to the Past
Link's Awakening
Oracle of Ages
Oracle of Seasons
Oracle of Time
Majora's Mask
Minish Cap
Wind Waker
Four Swords
Twilight Princess

Did I miss any? I know there are others like Link's Awakening DX and all the collector's editions but those are basically one in the same game minus the extra dungeon or weapon or what have ya.

EDIT: There are the cd-i games too but they are complete crap so I'm not even going to include them.

Link to the Past and Link's Awakening I had fond memories of.  I've never played any beyond those.  I guess my vote is for Link to the Past.

Link's Awakening is the best Zelda gameboy game IMO. The oracles were fun but didn't have the same feel to me as LA did. Minish Cap was a blast but I didn't find it as challenging. I took me forever to beat the second dungeon in LA! Gah, trying to find that stupid nightmare key WAS a nightmare! Finally realized I had to kill the enemies in the one room in a specific order!

So, I've never owned any other Nintendo systems except the NES and the N64, which I just recently bought (well, I did own a SNES for about 2 days before I returned it for a Genesis). The only Zelda games I've played are the two on NES and Oracle of Time. I loved all three, but if I have to choose it would be Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.

The original Zelda was one of the first 3 games I played for the NES, so my vote is there. On the other hand, the Link to the Past has some of the most memorable music IMO(in the opening minutes of the game) so much so I want to make an MP3 of it somehow. Im sure I could get it on a WAV file, but im not sure how to convert to MP3. THAT game would make a great soundtrack! So would the first two games as well. What the hell, through them all on a disc!

I guess I'm partial to the SNES one because of the hookshot, that was my favorite weapon/item in any game for a long time after I played it. I used it to get around faster, beat up enemies even when my sword woefully outranked its power

The Legend of Zelda is definitly the best Zelda game, and one of the best games ever.  The only games that are better,IMO, are the Dragon Warrior games for NES.

Zelda II is often overlooked because it's different, and therefore not as good. I enjoy it, and still go back and play it from time to time. It has a certain charm that I can't say no to!

I'd have to say the one that started it all: The Legend of Zelda. But, A Link to the Past would be a close second -- that game was incredibly well designed.

I vote for SNES Legend of Zelda: A link to the Past.

This game, along with Shadowrun, got me completely hooked on SNES rpg's and eventually lead to me wanting to collect all the snes games on top of the nes games. Those final fantasy games were ok too i guess. lol.

My favorite is either the original, or Ocarina of Time. I love them both too much to decide which I like more.

The original will always be my favorite. It's a very hard thing to answer questions like this though. I mean, it's really difficult to look past the first one that you played since it's the game that laid the foundations of what you would expect from a Zelda game.
I have only played the 1st two and Majora's Mask and Twillight Princes so I am far from an expert on the subject though.

The first 3 Zeldas for the NES\Snes are the best imo. Hard to choose one. Although, the 2 Zeldas for the 64 are pretty dang good also.
This is like asking me which one of my kids I love more lol.

Even though the original LoZ is awesome, Zelda II really did a number on me. I'd have to say its my favorite.

Since Hounder started a Zelda thread I'm guessing this is the best thread to ask my Zelda carts price question How much does Zelda and Zelda II usually go for factory sealed (the original gold carts ... not the later re-releases)?
