I was shopping and found this PC-Engine and 4 games at a local thrift store. I was able to get them for 20% off the marked price as well. not a bad deal.

PC-Engine lot

The most interesting part is the system itself is actually a clone PC-Engine, but with what looks like a real NEC controller. The quality of the clone is pretty good actually and it even has the whole expansion port. Works pretty good too, though I prefer playing the games on my PC-Engine duo for the composite out.

Glad you got those at a discount! It's quite frustrating when thrift stores price stuff at retail-ish prices. I've pretty much stopped shopping at Savers (basically the same as Value Village) because they price their stuff so high. But congrats on the score!

Congratulations on the find!

Am I mistaken, or is that PC Engine clone called the PU-II? If so, that's quite the humorous name. Did they want consumers to think that their console reeks?

Thats a great come up.

And yes, it looks like a real NEC controller, just a different color. The one that came with my duo is the same just grey and blue.

Thanks for the welcomes (I should probably do a post on the introduce yourself forum). I'm actually north of Seattle, around Mill Creek. There's one close to where I work so I check it every day and get some interesting deals. The clone system is actually called a PC-II IC Card System and as far as I can tell it's made by Jamiko.

I've been on a win streak at Value Village lately. In the last couple weeks I have also gotten these controllers:

And a few days ago I found these signs:

The signs were $7 a piece. I dont know who the hell is giving these up, but I appreciate it! Anyone know what store these would have come from?

If only I could find games like that at my Value Village. I haven't seen any cartridge based games like that in a long time. Only coming across lately PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox and Xbox 360. Anything out of the ordinary would be awesome. Cool signs!!!

I had a good time at the Seattle Retro Gaming Expo last weekend. I got a fair haul without overspending as pictured below.

I made a video of it here:

Today I went for a drive and got lucky at Goodwill of all places, where I rarely find games:

Everything was $2 each. I found the TV games (frogger and Super Pacman) at a regular Goodwill. The Playstation games were found at a Goodwill outlet. Bust a Groove is the real standout there and a steal at $2. It's missing instructions, but the disc is in mint condition. Also it's great to have the original Naughty Dog crash games. I've never played them and I've heard good things.

I made a huge haul last week. I just kept coming across good deals. It started with this ebay lot of 20 games:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nintendo-Gamecube-Lot-Of-20-USED-Gam...

There's nothing too special in there, but it evens out to $2.45 a game, so it was a fair deal.

Then right before going on vacation, I found these at Value Village:

Prices were fare, but I used a %30 off coupon to make them a pretty good deal. But that's nothing, I was just getting started.

While I was on vacation, I found even more games at a St. Vincent De Paul store and they were only $3 each! Some of them are doubles for future trading.
I capped it all off by finding these two at two different Thrift Stores:

Dr Mario is complete and in pretty good condition. Contra 3 was a steal at $12 after a coupon. I'm glad I finally got that game. I also got an NVidia Shield for free as a bonus from work. I made a video on it all here:

Fantastic finds, especially those signs! I love those Value Village 30% off coupons, so handy.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

So I went out this morning for my usual Saturday morning game run and came up big! I had overspent last week, so I kept my budget for this week limited to what I had in my pocket.

The BMX XXX was half off and I barely ever see one out in the wild, so I thought I'd grab it. The other 3 games I got at a swap meet for a total of $9. This will probably be my best deal this year. I'm so excited for the Game and Watch!!! Not a bad haul for $11.50 all together.

These last 3 weeks have been good to me. This Time I finally got a Super Metroid for a decent price. I got it, Pitfall and the misc. discs at Value Village for a total of $11 after using another %30 off coupon. Pitfall has a huge crack right down the front of the case tearing the label. It looks like someone ran over it with something, but I opened it up and the board inside looks great. Also this is the first time in a long time that I've found N64 games at a Goodwill.

It's just been a very lucky summer for me I guess. I found all 15 of these games at 1 Goodwill Outlet over the course of this week. I had to leave a lot of games behind as I try to stick to a budget. The Ps1 games I dug up from the bottom of the huge blue bins they have there.

The 2 PS1 games were $0.10 each (sold by weight). Sin and Punishment, Animal Crossing were $3. The other 11 games were $2 each, even the imports.

While it's hard to find 16bit games at Goodwill these days, I still get lucky there for Gen 5-7 games.

Yah Sin and Punishment was a criminally overlooked title for the Wii. That and Mad World are probably going to be the 2 I play the most.
