That's because it's often a trap!

Lol true. I decided to not do the gameplay thing this round and just post as I improve and let the chips fall where they may. At the very least I want to no death Life Force, which I am determined to do tonight. So even if I don't win anything I'll still feel good about that accomplishment for one of my favorite games.

Normally, I like to post my scores as I go, but I'm not too confident that I can top the one that I've already got so I might as well hold onto it until the end.

Fair enough. I'll wait to see your 3.5 million score on sunday then.

If it was anywhere near that high I would have posted it already. Then I would wait for Tom to post his 6.5 million point score.

Unfortunately, that's no trap.
And it was not the save state button, it was the Game Genie

Updated my score. Not as high as I wanted and I died in a completely ridiculous spot, but I did no death the game which I'm pretty happy about. Went ahead and kept playing after I died there to see what other challenges await me on the secomd go round. Nothing too ridiculous although stage 3 is more of a pain. Lost several of my men on that stage alone. Made it to the bubbles on the last stage, although I should've beaten it a 2nd time as I kind of played carelessly after my no death run was ended. I'll try again later today.

^I was playing with infinite lives the other day to practice and I looped the game about five times. All it really does is keep getting faster, but there are a few extra enemies here and there. I feel like it has to stop speeding up at some point.

Thanks for writing. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email during this busy time of year.
In regard to your email, it is great to hear that you have found a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. Perfect dark was a first person shooter game that was released in May of 2000. I personally enjoyed this game a lot during my mid-teen years since it allows for up to four players to play at one time. All the Perfect Dark cartridges were black.

I hope this information is what you are looking for.

Response I received from Nintendo customer support when I asked if they knew any thing about a black Perfect Dark cart.

No problem! A little encouragement goes a long way. One thing that really helped me out was to play the game on emu and make a save state for each level. I would play a level until I could no death it,then I'd move on to the next. And definitely make a separate save state for the barriers so you can just practice those. That helped me a ton.

As far as a million goes,I'm going to try. I'm running out of time to get it though. After fighting to get the score I have,it makes me appreciate Tom's score even more.

I tried some more this morning and didn't do well at all. I play so much early in the week that I peak around Wednesday or Thursday and then it's just downhill from there due to burnout. It's probably safe to say that Tom's got this. If he doesn't break a million we are going to have to send him back to Skynet for repairs.

By the way, anyone know of a good recording program? I want to record my own no death run of this game. I'd rather do it on my nes,but if I have to emu it I will. If there's one out there easy to use,I may just start recording all my weekly gaming runs for the comps.

Besides a DVD recorder for a TV, I believe some people use programs like Camtasia to record their runs on computers and such.

Hey Bimmy,I have a question about one of the prizes....Maniac Mansion.
Is this the earlier release where you can microwave the hamster or a later run where they removed it from the game?

Just listen to this in the background while you play and you'll do great!
