That game was released on the Sega Genesis. Gameplay-wise, it's a decent game. But people say the game is nothing like the movie it is based on (which I haven't watched yet).

Universal Soldier was basically a port of one of the C64 Turrican games to the SNES. The leaked binary is not really that good. I have scans of a vidpro card for it, it might be a bit clearer than the magazine scan. I'll try to dig them up.

The first part in quotes says "In order to be able to realize a videogame they have to study videogames." If you study computation without knowing the games difficultly, you can make one. Wish I knoew more spanish to read the reast, I'll try. But it seems to start off pretty interesting to me for sure.

False "Realizar" does not translates to Realize. Realize= Dar cuenta.

It translates as follows:

"In order to make videgames, you have to study videogames. If you study computer programming without knowing how videogames are/work, it will be very hard for you to develop one."

I remember Club Nintendo Magazines! Best 20 pesos I spent every month in my childhood! I loved to read their articles! I even collected them until I moved to the US.

Every month or so, they will include a poster in each of their magazines, they are still alive.

@vladictivo, Remember  "Nintendomainia"with Gus and Maggie?

I don't know what the exchange rate was back then but 20 pesos for a magazine is a damm good deal, I think back when NES and SNES were out we paid about $4.

Oh man I sure do. I was so hyped back on the days about the "Ultra 64" because of it.
And we're talking about the first years of the internet era, so all the news were known via the magazine or the TV show; it t was so succesful  because it was sponsored by C. Itoh (later known as ITOCHU), an official Nintendo distributor for latin america.
Not intend to brag but I proudly keep a complete collection of the magazine, my best connection to Nintendo when I was a kid with no money.

It's a lazy port of Turrican 2, with some Universal Soldier levels (about 3) and enemies shoved in. From what I've played it's mostly like the Genesis/MD version, but they didn't do much in the way of music on the SNES proto, the MD version sounds a lot better. If I had the ablity and time I'd skin it back to Turrican 2 and right this wrong.

It works on the Powerpak in case anyone wants to try it out.

I scanned a few years ago the first 11 issues for retromags.com which I still have with me. They're kinda heavy.
Scanning the rest of the magazines (about 90 issues including year 2000) would take A LOT of time which I don't have

Hey where do you live? I just heard and read what is happening on NEZA hope you are not near that.

Well at my school we had a big scanner which would be really easy to use to scan books!

if we could get a hold of that we would scan all the issues in about 3-4 sessions.
