Probably won't be beating about 100 games this month for the SNES thread so maybe I'll give a better showing this month. And I have both of those games so no excuses.

I would have gladly given you the trashed box and manual from my childhood former-rental copy, but my dad threw them out.  Now I just have this beauty...

edit: Nvm, I forgot there was an overview picture so I replaced my screen space sucking 4 photos for the one personal best photo.

Did a quick run through when the midnight NA time started to go ahead and get a run through beat so I can focus on whatever circuit I want first to do better in. Screwed up royally against masked muscle, piston hurricane, kagero, and machoman. And didnt really go for much here. Just wanted to beat it quickly. 16-0!

Found the 2016 contest section. This score would be good for 5th. Not bad for a rusty run through.

I've noticed that certain punches are worth more, are you allowed to use them over and over until the Round is over, in order to maximize points?

It gives you point bonus for time, remaining health, etc. If you go to the round is over youll lose. You dont want to lose.

Is the point bonus for time always the best technique for max points?

Meh generally because it means you are knocking them out hard KOs and not getting hit, but not all the time. certain punches are better and you get more points for certain techniques.

I've never played a Punch-Out game before; this was pretty fun figuring out how to beat each character in the Minors. I'll keep playing and hopefully complete the whole game, but for now I'll post my meager score for you all to laugh at.

I've already topped my score from the previous Super Punch-Out contest.

I doubt I can do any better playing on an emulator. I'm done.

Nick bruiser in 58 sec seems pretty good. I haven’t played since last year and I only played one run.

I'll have to check my 20 year old file, but I bet my scores are a bit lower than that mbd. Granted back then I was a kid in middle school without the internet, but I remember working pretty hard for my times and scores

Yeah. I practiced Nick in time trial mode until I got the timing for the quick knockdown after dizzying him.

Nick isnt that hard to get around a minute. Just have to get him before that bullshit crank up fury or get lucky and cream him at the start of the crank  with good timing.

You guys never having played Punch-Out definitely need to give the NES one a go. I was never particularly fond of Super. A couple years ago I sat and practiced the first 5 or 6 guys regularly trying to get good at the game. I'd check the world records for each character and at the time I was able to get without the same second of them. I really suck as I go on because I never figured out the strategies for everyone. I guess this is the month to commit to it.

I feel the exact same way, I loved Punch Out from the first second I played it but could never get into Super Punch Out at all.  There's something about it that doesnt draw me in the same way as MTPO does.  This will be the month to commit for me too
