Hi guys,

I've been lurking around here for a while, and been far to busy to post properly (I can't even remember whether I've posted before at all).

I just figure I may as well put this up here in case anyone has any cool stuff lying around that they'd be willing to let go of.

In the throws (have I used this correctly?) of getting a job in order to enable me to really get my collection going, and looking for anything rarer than generic games. This includes prototypes (dumped or undumped), developer accessories, devkits, rare accessories or controllers, Not For Resale carts, or anything else you think classifies as hard to get and interesting.

I'll be willing to pay extremely decent prices once I get a job, which should be within the next month.

Of course, I believe you guys have a policy about a post number or something before you can trade, so I'll get that up before trying to buy anything.

Peace.

Cheers,
Franklint

I've got a Winback N64 proto and a Glover proto for N64 but I am probably going to want money similar to what the Chameleon Twist 2 proto just went for on eBay.

Yeah, I'd like to know what it went for as well. Completed search for "Chameleon Twist" didn't produce anything interesting.

216 euros for a released game? Was there some "major twist" ?

I got a stack of these that need to be liberated. Now if I could only find them.

Replies, woo! Gotta love an active forum.

DreamTR: I wish to bear your children. Glover has always been one of my favourite underappreciated gems, and I would absolutely love to get my hands on a prototype build. Please, please, I am begging you, hold onto it for a month or four until I have enough money to conceivably buy it from you. If I run out of things to buy, I'll also very likely go for Winback as well, but feel free to let that go if the opportunity arises sooner. You have 30 protos?! Sweet. Good work.

As per the Chameleon Twist 2 proto auction, I was bidding, but the person who won it bid more than I could afford at the moment, which was annoying. I was the final bidder, who chucked in the last 10 or so bids to try to sneak ahead. The completed auction's here (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISA...) for anyone interested.

buyatari: A stack of protos? If you do find any, don't hesitate to let me know, as I'd love to know what you've got .

Keep the offers comin', boys and girls.

Cheers,
Franklint

Heh...DreamTR has many more than just 30 protos...I believe he was merely referring to the quantity of N64 protos he has . I've a couple of the proto/review/sample/demo category myself, but nothing *too* fancy (Super Turrican NTSC (NES) would probably be about as good as it gets).

Edit:  On topic...are you just looking for N64 stuff, or protos in general?

mb7241: Wow. I no longer wish to bear DreamTR's children. Instead, I want to BE his/her children (?), so that I can obtain all his/her N64 protos in his/her will. Seriously though, any that you wish to sell, DreamTR, I'm all ears.

I'm only looking for N64 gear, I'm sorry to say. It's the console that appeals to me the most, because it was the first real video game system I ever played, because of its revolutionary graphics and because it is the system that my favourite ever video game is on, namely Super Mario 64. I also figure that if I expand my collection to include other consoles, I'll go broke trying to fulfill my collection goals. I also like the exclusivity of being a single-console collector.

buyatari2: Huh, you and DreamTR seem to be leading the pack in terms of protos, as I've never heard of anybody with more. I would be honoured to help you "liberate" your set once I have regular income.

Cheers,
Franklint

Frankint: I'm sure there are people with more N64 protos, but they are pretty tough to find. Most of the ones I have sold were because I had multiples of each more than anything....

I'll gladly sell you Glover and Winback, just contact me when you have funds for one or both of them. I don't have them put on the market right now or anything....or if buyatari digs his out, one of us can buy those= P

Woo. Cheers Dream. I appreciate it buddy. And I definitely agree with you that N64's probably one of the hardest consoles to find protos for, which makes finds all the more awesome.

I just had a look on the Wikipedia page, and it turns out that Blitz Games (formerly known as Interactive Studios), the company that developed Glover, were/are based in the UK. This makes me suspect that the Glover prototype would be a PAL cartridge. Could you please confirm? This would be extra good, as, being in Australia, I'd be able to try out the dev cart before obtaining an NTSC console, which I plan to do soon.

Cheers,
Franklint

Hi boys and girls,

Please don't eat me for a shameless self-bump. I am now "in the money", as they say, and am looking to buy either one prototype game (which the user is prepared to check the completeness of and report back) or one other item, such as a complete SN64/Partner 64 devkit (desperately after one) or a game copier such as a CD64. If it's rare and/or useful and/or sought-after, let me know!

Cheers,
Franklint

I'd also definitely be interested in a CIB copy of Densha De Go! (Japanese import game), either Engineer's Pack or regular, and the official controller included also. Or a set of many NFR carts, which the price could be negotiable for. Cheers!

Probably around $200-300, if the cart was verified as being less than a complete build. The less complete, the more I'd pay. I'd also pay over $300 if it was a game that I really liked.

Heh, good idea. I'm still pretty new, so if $300 seems a bit much, maybe I should drop it back some... What would one proto usually go for?
