I purchased a SNES cart with no label on it for fun a couple weeks ago.  It turned out the game was Capcom's Final Fight.  When I mentioned my little find on NA, someone suggested that it may be a proto if there was no residue where the front and back label should be (and it doesn't).  I have opened the cart, but I have no idea what to look for to determine if it is a proto.  What do you guys think?

From the looks of it? No way. The PCB is a production board, and the chips are mask roms. All signs point to a normal retail release.

For a prototype you typically want to look for a different looking pcb (long board, jumpers, etc), and EPROMs instead of production roms. Those two things are common place on prototypes.

Production version of the game, made on the 31st week of 1991 (ie August 1991). This pcb board is most likely from the initial release bunch of Final Fight, but it certainly is not a prototype.
