The emoticons are a great addition to posts, they're great to set the tone of a sentence so people understand how you're saying it. The most common ones come from the simple : ) styled faces, but there's one that I've used at least a dozen times that hasn't gotten one:   :/
(This is the most common one I can think of, but if anyone else has one they'll use just post it)

I know not everyone wants to say something, so I'll be adding a poll above for any emoticon that gets suggested. So if you feel one way or another about whether an emoticon should come to life, just vote up there ^.

I have always seen other emoticons here and there on NA. I never bothered to find out how to use those. I primarily post from mobile, but adding more emoticons would be cool.

Yeah you can use emojis on your phone but sometimes they don't show up right.

I dunno I saw a post similar to this asking for like and dislike buttons. Now this one for more emojis, I say let NA be NA and let all that other stuff be on FB and other social media. *happy face* *thumbs up*

I voted no because I like it when people use words to express themselves.

If we add emoji's and like buttons, then this forum will just degrade into all the other crappy ones around the internet with little substance. Just a bunch of thumbs up and smily faces.

Personally. I think it's good to have actual conversation as opposed to fancy little smily faces.

Don't get me wrong, I use an emoji here or there. Usually to denote I'm being sarcastic or trying to be funny, so people can understand my humour better.

I think having meaningful conversation is the one thing that sets NA apart from other "social media" platforms as GreatGadon stated above.

Good point, I'm not saying we should add a large amount more but with all the common ones we have in place I think it's weird that :/ was left out.

Confused is similar but the googley eyes throw it off, :/ is more of a 'meh' or 'nothing I can do about it' sort of face.

 

Just copy the image sorce from another forum and add it in like you would any other pic.
