Yep, one of my local game stores stopped accepting trade-ins on some common NES games because the owner can't move them fast enough. The shelves behind his counter were full of dozens of SMB/DH, Mario 3, Castlevania, etc.

That said, I doubt the TG16-Mini will impact TG16 prices. The system is niche enough that anyone interested in the system is either going all-in on collecting or satisfied with either emulation or a system with a flash cart. I don't think there are many "I'll buy a system plus a few staple titles" like there were with the NES/SNES.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

If I got a mini with 1/3 of the games I wanted I wouldn't go original.

Very interesting. I like how they have three different models too.

Outside of the NES and SNES I didn't realize how much IP Konami has. They literally have enough IP to support a console. They could probably make Google Stadia work if they wanted to.

edit: but the 3DO doesn't really have a lot of quality exclusives. Most of better titles in its library were ported over to PSX/Saturn or came from PC in the first place.

Back when PS Classic was first announced, someone tweeted Philips about whether they'd do a CD-I mini. They tweeted a response back saying they were looking were interested in the idea and that they'd look into it

Id never stop taking stuff like that in. The market corrects and NES Classic goes away, the demand will tick back up. May not get the prices you were getting but still sellable. Just knock down what you give for them a tad.

I really hope that Keith Courage In Alpha Zones is on there. It might not be everyone's favorite but it was the original USA\CAN pack in game and I myself played the hell out of it and would again.

I'm fascinated by how this is going to affect the community. Now I wish I would've paid more attention to the release of those Nintendo mini consoles haha

I don't know how predictive the effects that Nintendo mini had on the vintage market would be for the turbo grafx mini's effects. The two consoles have a very dif. place in America.

I think the effects of the sega mini will be a little closer to predicting trubo mini's effects. Sega was more widely spread and has a bad reputation with plug and play's, but Sega and Turbo didn't saturate the market the way Nintendo did when they were current gen consoles.

If Turbo and Sega put out a good product, have the right mix of games, and put a little marketing behind it, I would argue that they could potentially stimulate the market. If the two consols reach people that only focused on Nintendo they could make people wonder about the rest of their respective library's.

I want to see a mini Game Boy as thin as a credit card with builtin Game Boy camera and printer.  They could sell special thermal cards such that you lay the mini on top of it and by emitting heat or light, it transfers an image to the paper.  And the results should look just as shitty as the real Game Boy camera and printer.

Or you could hold it to your face and get an instant, credit card sized tan! Just 1,500 applications and your body is beach ready... no tan lines!
