Not sure what to keep, AVS or NES classic question about cheat codes

I'd like some opinions.  The AVS has a built in game genie which is nice.  I'm going to a friend's house soon and i want to make sure we can play Contra with the 30 lives cheat.  The thing is I have an unopened minty NES Classic that I really don't want to open but at the same time I can load a bunch of games on that.  Does anyone know if the old school left right A B whatever code works on the Classic mini (or any of the old school codes for that matter)?  Thinking about selling one of them because I need money.

The code is part of the game itself, and the NES Classic didn't "fix" or change any of the games included at all. At least insofar as Contra is concerned, you should be fine either route.

You should just play Contra the normal, manlier way.

The biggest point for me is that the NES Classic adds major and noticeable lag. AVS introduces no lag and world class Tetris players couldn't detect any when using the wireless AVS pad from across a warehouse.

If you have to sell one, sell the NES classic. The AVS is not going to depreciate any time soon, but the NES classic will if Nintendo rerelease it next year. Plus the AVS is awesome and the NES classic is basically an emulator.

Having said that, the NES classic is more portable than the AVS.

What tv/monitor did they use?

I don't have an AVS (I have Hi-Def NES instead), but I know the AVS offers a far more accurate/authentic experience than NES Classic Edition (if you use a real NES controller anyway).

My might be able to keep both, I just feel guilty about about spending so much money on two systems.  Another thing I just though about is the NES Classic can save game progress.

Couldn't tell ya. Someone who was at that PRGE (I think) would. I know I don't notice any on my Samsung, which I think is one of the more notorious brands, but I'm no world-class player!

Keep the AVS, but make sure you have a somewhat newer TV, otherwise you'll run into a problem like Gloves.

Anyone know if the 150 in 1 game cartridge works with the AVS game genie?

It does not. Not sure why you expect that it would (and yes I own both items in question)

Just to clarify: the cool boy 150 in 1 absolutely does work with the AVS.

I know that, it was your TV that was the issue if I remember correctly

And OP, keep the AVS, it is the better option to play the games.

Nothing that is relevant to the OP I'm afraid.
