**UPDATE FOR NEW SCORE**

Found a super effective way of racking up points, but it's very, very risky.  I didn't even think of doing it until Guill posted his score.  I'm lucky I got as far as I did.  Had a few close calls at some Abobos, but managed to get past them.

**UPDATE**

Played this this afternoon and got a better score.  Ran out of time fighting Jimmy Lee.  I'll try to see if I can do a little better.

Played this again today and did a little bit better.  I finally beat Willy on my first life.  I smoked him this time around.  He punched me with his gun once and didn't even shoot me.  When I got to Jimmy Lee, he finished me off in a few seconds.  I decided to keep going after that to see if I could beat the game and I kicked Jimmy's ass!  First time I've beaten this game in a really long time.

-------------------------

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Beware the Bimmy Marsh!

I remember playing this game (with game genie) and thought that it could not be beaten. I thought that eventually it just kept looping one level over and over and over...

Double Dragon is definitely not an easy game.  I've had it since I was a kid and I have gotten pretty good at it over the years, but still have a really hard time fighting Willy.  It's been a long time since I last beat it, but after you beat Jimmy Lee and see Billy Lee rescue Marion, I believe the game starts over.

I love this game, it's one of my all-time favorites!

I posted a Double Dragon NES speed run on Youtube under shincyriade's page a couple of years ago, but a high score was obviously not on the line. Maybe I'll give it a try! Street Fighter 2010 is currently taking up most of my gaming time though, as I'm aiming for perfection.

Aghhh! Double Dragon!!! I hate this game. I still can't beat it even with the Area 2 glitch and with all 3 lives. I freakin' hate Machine Gun Willy and the damn wall stones on the start of Mission 4.

Holy crap - Bimmy was "the wizard" (for reals) this whole time! All he ever wanted was to leave his lunchbox inside a dinosaur.

Sorry man, but your score is not valid in this form.

We play with the one life rule, so you need to take your pics immediately after losing your first life and include the information in the picture.

Yeah but when we were kids that was the first time any of us saw Mario 3. It had been talked about in Nintendo Power for months, but that movie had the first actual video of it. It was epic at the time.

Double Dragon!
I'm going to post a score tonight. It won't be close to the big ones here, but I guess it'll be enough to net a participation point.

Indeed, that movie may in fact have been responsible for my first erection. TMI?

Bump for a new high score. Finally beat this game for the first time in years, but wasn't able to 1-life it. Maybe I'll do that one day.

Cramps finally gave me a break today, so I managed to play the game without trying to break and destroy everything around me.
I could have managed to get a higher score... but Green Abobo was mean to me.
The contents below are for bookkeeping.
The rules for this game need to be updated. This score was only obtained due to the Williams loop at the caves during stage 3. It's possible to keep fighting them indefinetely there by defeating them, entering the door from where you came from to go back to the last section and enter it again, with full life and time to fight more Williams.
The rules must state that this loop is also invalid.

Tomorrow I'll come with a valid one.

Good point, Bea. Ok, rules update. In Mission 3, the Williams loop is strictly forbidden (you cannot leave the blue cave repeatedly and return to fight the Williams over again).

Agree 100%, this loop must be forbidden.
