Here is something I just Whipped up, I will have to finish it tomorrow when the East Matchups are finalized

Round 1 match ups set, make your picks!

East

(1) Pittsburgh vs (8) NY Islanders -- Penguins in 5. Islanders did a hell of a job making the playoffs, but they lack experience and are a young team. Big step in the right direction for the team, but Pittsburgh is too stacked.
(2) Montreal vs (7) Ottawa -- Sens in 7. Anderson is the x factor here, awesome season for him and he will stand on his head and keep the Sens going into the next round.
(3) Washington vs (6) NY Rangers -- Rangers in 6. They're hot right now and built for a long playoff grind.
(4) Boston vs (5) Toronto -- Bruins in 6. Lucky for Boston they get to play a cold team like Toronto in round 1, they should use the series to wake up and get ready for the later rounds.

West

(1) Chicago vs (8) Minnesota -- Chicago in 5. Wild have the worst last 10 out of all the playoff teams and barely beat the worst team in the West to make the playoffs.
(2) Anaheim vs (7) Detroit -- Detroit in 7. Wings are pulling together and I think they sneak past the Ducks.
(3) Vancouver vs (6) San Jose -- Canucks in 6. Yes, i'm actually picking the Canucks. Sharks always suck in the playoffs, but they could upset if Niemi plays great.
(4) St Louis vs (5) Los Angeles -- Real shame one of these teams has to lose in round 1, both are contenders. My gut feeling this year is with St Louis, something about them, I feel they go all the way to the cup finals. Blues in 7.

Go Rangers.. thank god they moved up and did not have to play the Pens first round..

Theres no re-seeding done, if you pick the Ducks and Wild to win the first round, they'll meet in the second round as the 2nd and 8th seeds.

What I mean is, does the top rated team get the bottom seed no matter what? Or if the Wild win would they face the winner of the 4 and 5 seed match up?
