Hey guys i posted this in the missing on the site thread, but figured id put it here as well to get some peeps input and ideas

My idea>>

Would it be possible to make like a group of threads titled like "Valuable Game Information"and make the FAQ like a sticky in those forums. Then make like a full page with all the threads that contain important information, collectors lists sticky, tips sticky, bad trader list sticky, and so on. But possibly make it in alphabetic order and all on one page, if that would even be possible.

And make it so people can post in them but they wouldnt get shuffled around or bumped above the other. That would make for easy research on collectors lists, rarity lists, Bad traders, the to be complete list, maps list etc. everything like that.

Kinda a supreme set of threads that people who are new to the site can check out, or if a long time member wants to change the bateries in his game, but dont know how. Can simply go into a forum that tells you exactly how to do so. And all he would have to do to get there is to go to the "Valuable Game Info" Threads and scroll down to the letter C and click on the "Changing Bateries Forum" Something like that, hope this makes sense and if you go this route im sure youll make it even sweeter than i describe. Hope this sparks an idea because i think this would be awesome.

Oh also and instead of just letting anyone start "valuable game info threads, maybe have them start a thread in collectors corner, and then have your approval of having it moved to the "valuable Game Info" section. That way everything can be made accurate before it goes set in stone in the VGI thread. Just a thought. whatta ya think?

Like I said before I think that this is a great idea and it would save me alot of time and frustration searching through hundreds of threads looking for info.I am sure Dain has something like this in mind it is way to good of an idea to pass up exploring the uses of such a thread.

Wouldn't an enhanced search engine do the trick without having another forum section?

I kinda agree with limbo. I don't like having to scroll down to see the whole forum... could be neat I guess though.

yea possibly, although some topics are cool to see, and if i didnt see em started i would have never thought to search them, kinda like the thread of how to clean nes games, if someone just joined the site they probably wouldnt think to just search something like that, because how would they know if it had ever been covered. same goes with everything else. i would think to make threads like these for newer members of NA as well as veterans,

plus IMO searching is a hassle because you still have to dig through all the other semi matching threads that are unorganized to find a correct topic

plus to the common new user, they prolly dont think to search, take gimmick for example. hes a newer member and had a lot of questions that he didnt know was already covered and prolly never thought to search em.

the real question is would they find the section before making the posts anyway? Hard to say.

I have possible a better solution. In the confirmation email to join, have a link up that they can click that has a Collecting FAQ in it. That way every member will have access to it. Just make it into a webpate instead of a forum section.
