The Richman-Gordman copy with sticker removed was my first though, but if not the same markings, then where did this one come from?
Its not Bronty's or Phishor's old copy, so is there now 4 known?
Like any other collector except current owners, I sure hope it is a new copy. I'm still waiting for someone to post "oh, that's _____ copy" and solve the mystery of whether this is a new or old find, too. Also really curious becuase once a previous post mentioned the location in Washington, I looked it up and it is 130 miles from where my cart only copy was found "in the wild" in 2013 (Port Angeles, WA). I want to say that somewhere in a SE thread or article I read that these were only released or made it into certain regions of the country (want to say Northeast) and perhaps were also limited in retailer (Woolworth's?). ***Someone please correct me if any of that is wrong as I don't have the time to search and confirm right now. Anyways, Washington was one place I remembered becuase that was where my copy was found. I thought it was an odd coincidence when I saw that this one was in Washington, but in a good way if it's a new copy and those other facts add up. Neat regardless, and I think it's real unless the pics are stolen or something. Seller feedback is always a concern, but realistically this seller could be similar to me in that I have rare stuff but almost no ebay seller feedback, only as a buyer, and otherwise no credit unless you check my NA feedback.

Ya, I wanna say that last raw sealed copy went for 41k four years ago---but that was at the peak of Nes stuff---

I think it's a "new" copy. Chad did tell me about a new copy being graded some time ago but obviously for privacy couldn't say who owned it or anything

To be fair, if I was an NES collector spending $30k, I'd rather have bought the $26k Gold NWC last week.  NWCs are much more liquid than VGA.

I guess we'll see where the bidding goes though!  Hopefully stays legit with no troll bids.  I assume a nice CIB would be about $15-$20k, so I'd expect this to be $35-40k range.  Just a guess though!

You guys sure are optimistic. Knowing what I know about people and the internet there is no way this will last another 9 days without some douche bags troll bidding.

NWC Gold and Grey sold well last week, but then again it was New Years Eve when they were sold.

We'll see how things play out.

Yep.

The upside for anybody serious is that they'll likely put it up with a 30K BIN after the shenanigans die out.

I imagine this will probably happen. I've added the auction to my watch list anyways,  just to see how everything play's out. Should be interesting no matter what.

What is the breakdown of a CIB?
The last loose cart was what 7500?
Not sure what an instructions booklet and box would fetch. Instructions booklet has to be less and box would have to be more. 3000 and 10000?

I've often wondered about the price tag on an manual+box stadium events. I guess it appeals to CIB collectors going for the full set but it seems like the cart would be worth a lot more in this rare instance since so many people only want a cart only.

4-5 SE carts get sold on ebay each year, it's almost a liquid market for the very small amount of people close to full ntsc sets trying to get that last piece.

If there are 3 known sealed stadium events now you might see three more in your lifetime.  Years between re-sales.

A CIB in good condition should be no less than $17,500 these days. This is my breakdown on the subject.

  Low Mid High
Cart $5,000.00 $6,250.00 $7,500.00
Manual $3,000.00 $4,000.00 $5,000.00
Box $7,000.00 $8,500.00 $10,000.00
  $15,000.00 $18,750.00 $22,500.00

Also, add $25 for that Bandai insert!

Oh, and I think there are 4 known sealed SE's now.

Bronty's, !damage's old copy, Namco-Bandai HQ's, and now this one.

I heard the rumors of the bandai copy long ago. It is possible the seller picked this up? Claims he worked at Nintendo and picked it up in the 90s.

I spoke with the seller on the phone yesterday.

The guy right now is out of work and used to work for Nintendo. He was personally responsible for destroying the pallets of Stadium Events (along with other old stock) that were recalled in a grinder. He confirmed with me without a doubt that these games were sent to oblivion. However, he's not 100% sure if he got his copy from the employee defect store (e.g. not up to par packaging but still functional), or during the grinding process and asking his boss if he could have one, he did do this for other stuff but not sure if he did it for Stadium Events.

He found out how valuable the game was, graded it, and is now selling it. I have a hunch that he might have more than one- but that's just a hunch. I think he would have graded other copies if he did.

Really good guy, and he seemingly can use the money right now. Funny how the past two years a mint CIB and this sealed copy came into the hands of non-collectors.

Edit: Also, can anyone think of any questions you might want to ask him? I want to ask him some stuff about his job there, but if anyone wants to know anything specific about the Stadium Events I can probably find out for you.

So he's personally responsible for destroying all of the copies, yet would only ask for one?  I find that hard to believe myself.

Also, you can never believe every word from a salesman, that should be a given.  If I had multiple SEs, I'd grade them one at a time and leak them to the market every few months, or once a year around tax time.  Surely no one would be foolish enough to blow up the entire VGA population on an grail and submit all of them at once.

I took it with a grain of salt, that's why I suspect there's more than one given the fact that he claims to be the guy responsible for the destruction of these things. Still, this was graded back in 2011 and he's selling it only now that he's out of a job. Why sit on it for 3 years if you have more than one? (Unless the lack of a job is an excuse?)

If I had a box of Stadium Events I wouldn't grade them at all, I'd just buy acrylic box protectors and not let the public know they even exist.

Edit: Besides, it's all speculation anyway. This may very well be the final copy to surface for a very long time. But again, if there's anyone who has a stack of these things it's this guy The more I think of it logically though, why only ask $30k BIN? It's risky, but not really since it's still Stadium Events.

I'd love to know if he has any info that confirms or contradicts the popularly held belief that about 2000 were in the production run and around 200 made it to the public. If we know the production run and number of copies he ultimately destroyed then we might have a better idea of how many are out there.

Would also be neat if he had any info about whether it was actually exclusive to certain regions and retailers.

Good one.

Given the fact that I think Bronty's copy was found in Washington and the dude mentioned that there was an employee store. I'm willing to bet that's where the other copy came from as well.

I'll see if I can get in touch with him again and ask him this weekend. If anyone has anything else they want to specifically ask I'll write down a list.

I believe there are 2:

The 75 copy #75605609 (phishOr/ feeback's old copy)

This 85 copy #76523899

Then 2 raw copies:
Bronty's

Richman-Gordman's

Is the Richman Gordmon copy the one that Namco-Bandai is rumoured to own? If not then it's definitely 4 known copies with the possibility of 5.
