They might as well only engrave his name on the cup. Thomas won it for them for sure. He got them into the playoffs. He won them every round in the playoffs.

I can't remember a time where I thought a goalie was getting a lot of praise from fans and the media and felt he deserved more. We may well have just watched the best season a goalie has ever had.

Marty had some awesome seasons for sure. So did Roy. So did Dryden. So did Hasek. So did Parent. So did Sawchuck. So did Esposito. So did Smith. So did Broda. So did Cheevers.

Front to back, I can't think of a specific season any goalie had that was better. These guys I mentioned may have had better careers but this was by far the best single season.

Yeah Thomas was phenomenal. The best season I can remember a goalie having since JS Giguere had that great run in 03 and won the Conn Smythe as a member of the losing team.

Vancouver probably needs to dump Luongo if they want to ever win the Cup. He's proven to be too much of a whiny primadonna, and I think Schneider would be quite fine in goal.

Congrats to Boston. We didn't play like we actually wanted to win at all. I'm happy for Thomas, but I really think Brad Marchand taunting the Vancouver fans was pretty classless. Ah well.

I would take that gamble I think. I believe in schneider a lot and it would free up a lot of cap space. I just don't know how you dump that contract.

Is it really Luongo guys? Aside from the overly lopsided goals allowed in those losses, he was pretty good. Someone ought to tell the Sedins that the Finals were going on...that and their powerplay was abysmal.

I don't think it was Luongo's fault completely. He did let in some stinkers, but if our offense would have showed up at all, we could have had a better shot. But players were playing with broken fingers (Edler) and a broken foot (Higgins) and who knows what else. We just had nothing left.

Exactly. They kept shooting from the point, hoping magically that it would start working. There was no crashing the net. Even when a shooter would get to the slot, he'd seem to pass it back out to the point. And the dump and chase just wasn't working at all. We couldn't gain the zone to save our lives.
