Don't have my gaming stuff with me. Eh, I tried a couple days ago just to see how I'd do on emulator, I can't play well with a keyboard, though did get past the first stage. Besides I wouldn't count it unless it were on console, just how I am. There'll be other times to kick ass. Just going to have to play harder when I get my chances to.

Yeah, I figured that if I didn't give you guys a headstart there'd be no competition.

She not Princess Lana, actually just a generic princess/queen outfit design that I was messing with. I'll most likely be changing my avatar a lot, this girl likes to dress up as different characters.

Well, she looks a lot like Princess Lana (from Captain N), though I guess Lana wore white.

I can pass some levels now. I was having a really hard time, then after a couple of hours I just sorta got the hang of it. Score forthcoming after snackytime and a few more runs.

Hmm.. wow. I just realized, Energy=life. I thought you had a certain number of hits, and you were dead, and defense increased those hits.. and energy was just for special weapons. This knowledge may help me

^^^ Defense decreases the reduction in Energy from being hit.

Finding out you can charge shots helped me tremendously.

I knew someone would break 1 million pretty quick. I have a bad feeling someone is going to beat the damn game without dying.

I definitely see that happening as the week wears on.

If the game is beatable at all, then it's obviously beatable in a single life, since you don't continue mid-level.

If and only if people avoid crippling thumb cramps.

I'm not sure how many more runs I can go, I did several last night and my hand is actually sore today.

Sad, maybe I can get some participation points anyway!  I don't want to work too hard on this with no turbo controller, maybe I'll give it another go later though.

I don't seem to do any better or worse regardless of what gets powered up!

The first time I played I went all Offense, and noticed a significant difference against the surface ship turrets.

Also, if you go with Special Weapons then you get more options from the red-plane-drops.

I decided to give it some tries on emulator (really wanted to play this, didn't want to feel left out), not the easiest method of play for me, can't control worth crap with the arrow keys, but the plus side is because I get to use my left fingers for firing, my firing rate is awesome, but for games like this, don't matter how fast you can fire, if you can't dodge well, not going to last long. I made it to the 3rd stage boss, the giant airplane a few times, my left arm is worn out though, no more for me for a bit.

Edit: played some more, wanted to see if I had it in me to beat the 3rd stage, nope, managed to take out the 4 engines on the giant plane, but my left arm was so sore that I lost my ability to fire much anymore, time to call it quits.

Here's my highest score so far, but I made a couple of dumb mistakes towards the end so I think I can do better.

Oh and I'm using an emulator on my XBOX if that's okay?  No trickery or scum baggery is happening.

Got this score my first time this morning.  Made it to the end of level 6 and was about the get the full life thing but died on my way across the screen to pick it up.  Booooooooooo.  About the turbo, I'm not sure it would help because I use the power shot all the time.  I suppose you could switch the turbo on and off.  Anyhow, using the NES Advantage is working great.  So much easier to fire fast with the bigger button and using my fingers instead of my thumb.
