A lot of cheap deaths there. Just warp to level 5.

I don't think I ever made it past level three so I decided to look this game up. Found out two things. One. There are some weird memes linked to this game, including a ton of Youtube videos with people prank calling Pawn Stars, and other people harassing Gamestop with orders for a Wii version. Two. This game is still impossible after stage 3. Someone asked what is harder, this or Ninja Gaiden. Battletoads without a doubt. I have beaten Ninja Gaiden. Most of the game is actually a cake walk until you get to the final boss. Battletoads is a cakewalk until you get to level 3 then the game becomes torturing. There are more forced scrolling levels after 3, and some crazy looking snake level. I'm hitting up participation for sure.

I agree, just a little...  The ice cavern is mad easy once you have it down, it's just easy points.  Can't skip that 15K at the end either, so good.  Or was it 10K?  Whatever it is, go for it.  Level 5 has cheap deaths occasionally to the mines, and you have a better chance of maxing the score before long if you don't skip it.

I know bro, total rookie move too. I went flying in real quick, took too many hits from stupid stuff (the moving spike balls) and then a snowball got me right here. Yea total bummer. lol

Actually there is a part for farm scoring. Level 8 elevator shaft, if you grab the weapon you keep repeatedly keep head butting those green rolling blobs for 2,000 points a piece. But making it to level 8 with 1 life is pretty tough as it is. 

Yea good question, kinda realized that after i flew through the speeder bikes and was like, wait what am i gonna do now lol.  Probably will be skipping level 4 on my next run.

After this death i made it through the rest of this level, and levels 6 (snake pit) and Level 7 (inferno) without losing a life. Score still not maxed out.

For those of you wondering, if you have the snake pit level down you don't get hardly any points in that level so you can skip it by hitting the warp in that level. However you can rack up some good points in level 7 on the airplanes, but its tough if you dont know the level. The warp in level 6 skips to level 8, so youll miss out on all the easier points if you don't do level 7.

Not losing any lives and trying to score big in this game is definitely a challenge.

Beating level 7 without losing a life is great. In fact, not losing a life anywhere except maybe level 1 is a feat in this game. I really like this set of rules for battletoads, very challenging and fun to play. I'll try to post a score anytime soon to give you some competition

I did another nice run, but lost a life on snake pit UH !! Hate screwing up at spots where i normally dont. But i continued to practice a little more, and i did remember i did lose a life in level 7 where i said i didnt. It was right where you jump on the logs i overshot one of them. This was of course after my score i posted, but just wanted to mention i didnt get completely through level 7 without dying like i thought i did lol. Almost tho, at least through the hard stuff, dumb log jump mess up lol..  

Looks like the top 10 will come down to who can kick them damn birds the best. Which is a lot harder then it appears. Good luck my friends

He's on fiiiiire.  This is my best no-death run to date.  Kind of bummed where I lost a life, and ironically shortly after getting a free one as I was fighting Manus.  This is quite a tough score to beat.  I had a nearly perfect run in terms of point collecting, doing everything I could to max it out (like head-butting the Space Invaders instead of punching them).  I was impressed I could make it through the Inferno without dying, that's probably the hardest level in the game.  Not sure I want to put in effort getting higher than this, I'll be extremely surprised if I'm dropped from the Top 10 list.

What's to stop me from posting a maxed score at the very end of the game? How would you ever know if I died or not?

Being honorable.  There is a certain amount of trust that goes with these contests.  Until the scoreboard is set up we wont have a mostly reliable way of telling if someone is cheating or not.  The fact that you even say something like this already leads me to want to watch you scores a little closer.

This is the second week in a row where you've asked basically this same question. And you got the answer last week.

The contest is run on the honor system.

If anyone is suspected of cheating, they will be asked to provide proof that their score is legit.


I don't know if you're trying to start an arguement or what. But if you don't like the rules, don't compete.

Everything is based on the honor system.  If I feel a score is suspicious, I will ask for further proof or reject the score completely.

What kind of further proof could I provide?

More than likely, video proof would be required. Depending on the situation, I may ask for the video to be a recording of your TV while the game is being played.

Nice Score Stan, very nice job! I was moving in brutally close to ya and then this happened. I'm sure you can only imagine the frustration here. So............. Um yea, needless to say threw down the controller on the floor, im done for the night lol

Couldnt believe it. All that way no deaths. I have in the past overshot this last jump, so this time with the pressure... on i  decided last second (thought about it too much) and tried to under shoot it, and it cost me. Smacked myself in the forehead, and yanked the power cord outta the wall. ughhhhh the frustration

(for those that dont know, this death was literally on the very last jump before the very end of snake level (4 of 4 snake stages)  And its the very last jump before you go in to level 7. lmao

BTW i was so pissed off i forgot to grab my nametag. You can tell its the same TV stand Wall etc tho lol
