Don't worry, time will only allow Qix to make 2.9 million different versions, after that he'll probably be 290 years old, and likely dead in and in a Kryo freazer, paid for with all the copies he's sold.

This game has been getting tiny amounts of publicity but all over the internet. I think 250 more copies would certainly sell... it's a shame that it's currently unavailable when it's getting videos made about it like on ScrewAttack. I think it would be a great idea to make a production run of 250 boxed copies at $40 a pop. I think they'd sell. Just saying...

As you can see, quite a few people here would pay $25 for a box. Perhaps if somebody trustworthy organized $1000 from donations, they could have boxes made and sent off to RetroZone to be part of a future production run. I would donate $25 of my own money for this.

On a sidenote I didn't even buy a copy yet... damn unavailability... :-(

^ I hear you, if we had 35 votes, someone could easily open up a donation pool, on the other hand I am just as content with our current solution, it's in the works already. The logistics of it are more simple and cheaper to boot. We don't have to rely on speculation. Can't wait to see how it turns out : )

I'm interested in a couple of boxes but as acfrazier wrote, I would like for it to not be a bunch of different boxes.
Because nothing is stopping other people from making their own boxes and selling them.
Maybe the boxes can get some kind of seal that show it has been made with permission from Sivak.

Well the positive to Cart and Manual only was it made the game cheaper and more available to more folks, I can't blame Sivak at all, it was probably for the best

^Ours will have Sivak's Logo, at his request, I would want it anyway, no one has come forward willing to sell boxes, besides our Man Qix, there's really nothing you can do to stop someone from making their own, that's their business, I doubt anyone will try to sell any though.

Josh did some great work for the Kitty's Catch collectors box, I'm looking forward to see what he can do for this one

yeah I should have some time to work up some sort of box this week. This is all a'okayed by sivak and will have his logo/name everywhere on the box. I will only do a limited amount of these as I have other projects in the work. Price will be $25 a pop and all well be handcut/scored/folded/etc by yours truly.

I'd gladly make boxes for this if Josh needs help. I'll be able to make factory cut boxes for any game very soon.

From what I heard it's pretty much that Sivak didnt want all that money upfront.

I've made a smallbox for my cart. Printed it out at a "copyshop" at my hometown. It costed like $4 to print at 300 gram paper.

The hardest thing to do is to fold the box. Cause that makes the print to "crack". You have to find a thing that has a little crack, put the box on the crack. Then take a small thing like a plastic bite, press it on the printed paper and drag so it gets folded.

Count me in for $25 a box. I still need to get the manual for it as well....

does anyone know when the manuals will be up for sale again with the game? i'd like to pick up another copy but have been waiting for the manual to pop up again.

I gotta say, they UPC bar code, was a nice touch, that thing looks like it could be the real thing, Can't wait till Qix's is for sale : )
