Hello, everyone. =)
Basically, I'm an 18-year-old who took an interest in retro gaming about two years ago, but began collecting and making it a hobby about a year and a half ago. (This considered, I may be a bit ignorant in some respects, so please forgive me in advance!) As of now, my collection is relatively small. I have approximately 120 NES games (licensed, unlicensed, homebrew - I'm sure you all know which one that will be *cough* Battle Kid *cough* - a reproduction, and a hack on cartridge), two Famicom games (Holy Diver is amazing), about 40 SNES games, 40 Genesis games, and I'm starting to work on an Atari collection. Of course, I have Gameboy games (including DS) and various Playstation, Nintendo consoles (except Virtual Boy), an Xbox360... all of the things everyone else is into right now. All in all, I have about 350 games, so nothing impressive. However, I'm very interested and deep into retro gaming/collecting so I wanted to join a community. I'm sure my collection will begin to grow more rapidly this summer and while I'm working in college.
Since I'm such a noob, and this is an introduction forum, I'd like to ask a few questions while I'm at it...
1) Not that it matters much, but am I going to be one of the younger forumers considering I'm only 18? I understand that a lot of individuals here are fans were young(er) when the NES was originally released, and that's where their love for the NES began.
2) I'm EXTREMELY interested in homebrew/NES Dev. I have worked with the program Game Maker in the past, and I found it to be very fun. Though it was a part of my hobby, making my own NES game would be an outstanding feat and a great part of my moderately new hobby if I were able to take a part of NES Development. There's a few major roadblocks that I'm having trouble getting past, though.
Thank you for reading my post. =) I know it was lengthy, but I just thought I'd throw everything out there. I hope to have a fun time on the forums. =)

Alright. I skimmed through a few of the tutorials real quick. Assuming I learn it all, would this be enough to learn how to fully program a FUN game? Or would it be a simple engine or basic game like the first few NES games? I suppose I can make a dedicated topic on this later should I need any help. Thanks for directing me to that so swifty. =)
P.S. Thank you for all the warm welcomes so far. =)
If anyone is LOOKING for certain repro/homebrews, I have a running repro company thread going as well as a lot of extras myself which include Limited Editions as well. I'm also free to help answer questions and point people in the right direction so never hesitate to ask! Here is the current list of repro companies. Please let me know if I need to update it:
