Playing Zelda Goddess of Wisdom on a snes repro.  I was wondering when you can save.  Right after I get the sword I save and quit.  I come back and the screen is black, you can see the hearts, and hear the music.  Anyone else have any insight that would be great help, thank you so much!

That happened to me when I first started playing it. I got the sword, saved, and quit the game to do some errands. When I came back, the screen was black, with the exception of the stats. However, I started over and saved at a much later point, and everything was fine. I am still playing the game (at level 7), and I haven't had a problem since. As far as when to save, you can do it anytime by pressing the select button. However, you might have to save and quit to actually save the game if you go with the option. You could die of course.

I've run into something similar with my Parallel Worlds repro. Doing a save and quit kicks you back to the title screen, but the save file isn't updated. Wasn't sure if you had to make certain types of progress or what.

Anyone have any insight into where the good save location in goddess is?

Haven't heard of that in parallel worlds. I start it and save and quit when I do repros. Works just fine.

Yes, that minor thing slipped through beta testing, since the Save so early in the game was never defined. In this case which your friend experienced, you just need to delete the file and start a new one - note: nothing has been played actually, so you don't actually loose any progress.

Then when starting a new game, go to your uncle, but don't save, since you can not die in the rain-sequence. Then go up into the Guardhouse (green roof). From the entrance go up and left, talk to Zelda and the game is saved after you save and quit or die.

Note: before you reach Zelda, you can not save. This slipped through testing, since this is such a short part of the early-intro game, and no beta tester died or save and quit before reaching Zelda, and they could thus save normally.
