Well, let's see if we can do this a third time around. Who's ready to play some Werewolf! (And with a fancy new graphic, to boot!)
The Story:
Professor Westwood's eyes sparkled as single tears ran down his cheeks. He took one last look around him, took one last breath, before he stopped moving...forever.
Three Months Ago...
Professor Oak of Pallet Town looked down at his notepad, frustrated. He grew tired of his normal everyday research. Sure, reading about the ghosts of Lavender Town or the newest Silph Co. technology was cool and all, but it surely was nothing compared to actually visiting Lavender Town or Saffron. And trips to those cities took days, if not weeks. Days and weeks he did not have access to. Oak drummed his fingers on his desk, when suddenly, he got an idea. An idea so great, he couldn't help but jump right up from his desk and laugh. If this worked, it would be so
awesome! He quickly jotted down some ideas before calling out to his aide: "Book me a one-way ticket to Cerulean City, I need to visit a certain someone in a certain cave..."
Two Weeks Ago...
Blue awoke like he did every morning to the sound of a crowing Dodrio. He had gotten used to his new apartment in Viridian City; it was much more upbeat than the quiet life of Pallet Town. He quickly reached into his mailbox on his way to the coffee shop he ate breakfast at every morning. He shuffled through the bills and the junk-mail, until suddenly, something caught his eye: a gold-leaf envelope from Prof. Oak, his grandfather? "Why's gramps mailing me?"
Blue tore open the envelope as his cappuccino and muffin arrived from the Electabuzz waiter, and excitedly read the fancily-written letters stamped upon the page:
Dear Sir or Madame,
I, Prof. Oak of Pallet Town cordially invite you to the First Annual Pallet Town gala. I have prepared an indoor-outdoor banquet facility just outside the town for all of the most esteemed trainers and Pokémon professionals in Kanto to gather. Please know that this is a very serious event and that you were selected as one of the most important professionals in the entire region. You are allowed one guest, and may bring one Pokémon with you to the event. We will also have a PC and battle area available for on-the-spot Pokémon battling. This is an event for us as passionate Pokémon lovers to come together, share research, battle, tell stories, eat good food, and have a good time. I very much hope you shall attend and look forward to your presence. Please RSVP by letter as soon as possible.
Lastly, please keep this invitation secret. I only ask because, in an attempt to rekindle our Trainer-Pokémon relationship, the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo and Mew have agreed to attend the gala. I invite you to come and show these two wonderful Pokémon the best the Kanto region has to offer. I look forward to your response.
Warm Regards,
- Professor Oak
Pokémon Research Laboratory, Pallet Town
"Awesome, a gala? This should be fun!" Blue gulps down the rest of his breakfast, before shoving the invitation in his back pocket and leaving. To his unsuspecting self however, someone has been secretly watching him, and quickly pickpockets the letter as he exits the restaurant. They open it, glance it over, and smile before clicking open a cell phone and calling someone on speed-dial. "Yes, it's me. It's exactly as we thought. But better yet, there's two special someone's that'll be attending." The thief cracks a smile before hanging up the cellphone.
Four Days Ago...
A man of fortune and power swivels in his armchair, before chuckling under his breath. "This is perfect. It's the ultimate opportunity to strike. All the best Pokémon trainers and all the best Pokémon will be in one place, under one roof. Not only will be obtain an impressive collection in one go, no one will be equipped to stop the reign of Team Rocket." An executive officer rolls her eyes as she writes down some information on a clip board. "I know sir, you've told me six times already. I'm aware of how high-priority this mission is. Do you want me to assemble a strike team?" "No...I'll do it." The executive looks up in surprise. "Hmm? But, sir you don't need –" "Yes I do. I'll be joining in on this mission...
myself."
The Day of the Gala, 1 Hour Ago...
Everyone began pouring into the banquet hall. All the most esteemed people in Kanto were there. Oak smiled as he sipped a glass of punch and watched a Dragonite battle a Hitmonlee. Everything was going great; and even more of a relief, everything with Mewtwo seemed to be going smoothly. People were conversing with him, relations were peaceful, and Mewtwo even brought some of the chemicals he used for his cloning purposes to share with the other scientists.
This is fantastic, thought Oak.
Meanwhile...
"Prepare the capsules. We're almost ready to begin. The subject is directly beneath us."
The Day of the Gala, 20 Minutes Ago...
Professor Westwood walks up to the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo and introduces himself. "Hello there, it's an honor to meet you" says Professor Westwood shyly. "And I you," responds Mewtwo. "So...what exactly is this stuff?" asks the professor curiously. "I call it
Chem-O, due to the fact that it includes a newly found chemical substance known as Onyryt. The substance allows for fusion of other molecules and also can break down and recompose the amino acids in our DNA to form a completely identical clone of any Pokémon, though often the Onyryt even
enhances those Pokémon's abilities." The Professor looks in on the Plexiglas vat of the brown-orange liquid. "Amazing! Truly incredible! I would love to talk more science with you, Mewtwo." "In due time. I have agreed to show you and the other professors a demonstration later today." "I look forward to it!"
Blue walks up to Professor Westwood and Mewtwo and looks in on the
Chem-O vat. "What is this stuff?" Professor Westwood throws his arm around Blue like a loving uncle. "My boy, me and Mewtwo here were just discussing that, it seems to be some kind of chemical substance that allows for Pokémon cloning and enhancement. Quite incredible! Mewtwo, meet Blue, the grandson of Professor Oak himself, ex-Pokémon Champion and surely the next in a line of great Pokémon professors!" Mewtwo shakes hands with Blue, "How do you do?
Ex-Pokémon champion?" Blue bows his head in half-anger, half-humiliation, "it's a long story..."
Meanwhile...
"Activate the capsules; their gaseous substance causes temporary amnesia. Anyone in the gala will be unable to tell who each other is – even their own Pokémon. Make sure to wear your gas masks. We must utilize this distraction period to grab as many Pokémon as we can. However,
do not forget the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, he is the primary target. Understood?" "Yes sir!"
The Day of the Gala, 5 Minutes Ago...
"Well, I really must be going. I'll be looking forward to your presentation. Goodbye!" Westwood waves back at Blue and Mewtwo before returning to Professor Oak. "So far, so good eh?" "Indeed" responds Oak, "this might be the most successful event I've ever hosted." The two friends begin to chuckle, when suddenly...
BOOM! BOOM!
The glass ceiling above the banquet hall shatters, and a gaseous substance begins to fill the room. Oak sees his vision blur, and then his memory...his memory is being tampered with! He can't recognize anybody, not even his lifelong colleague Westwood! Several suits in gasmasks descend from the ceiling, and it's obvious who they are – Team Rocket. In the panic, Oak runs to one side of the room...
"Initiate!" yells one of the suits. A Rocket Grunt runs forward with an Ultra Ball, and hurls it at the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo. It was for naught, however, as Mewtwo has noticed the movement of the ball, and knocks it back with a simple psychic attack. What Team Rocket didn't plan for, however, was how furiously angry Mewtwo was about to become. He had had enough of Team Rocket always ruining everything, always making it a heartbreaking experience to weed out the honest trainers from the bad ones, and so, he snapped. He blasted a psychic beam attack directly at the Rocket Grunt that had thrown the Ultra Ball, piercing him in the heart. He drops to the floor, dead. Another Rocket looks at his fallen teammate and back at Mewtwo. Anger swells in his face like a geyser, before he screams, "ATTACK!!" Mewtwo holds nothing back, however, and soon after such a hostile command was shouted, explosions happen all around the banquet hall.
Smoke fills the room. The explosions knock most people off of their feet, including Team Rocket. Their gas masks come flying off, allowing them to inhale the noxious amnesia gas. "Wh-what?" the leader of Team Rocket looks around the hall to see a bunch of anonymous faces, he can't even tell the Pokémon apart from the trainers; his plan, has backfired. "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!" he yells in fury.
CRASH! Amongst the gas and smoke, something shatters with huge might. It's the
Chem-O vat; it's completely destroyed, as the chemical liquid begins to leak into the floorboards. But, what shattered it? Even Mewtwo's psychic beams couldn't shatter Plexiglas... Panic and screaming ensues.
"ENOUGH!" yells a loud, controlling voice over a megaphone. The figure stands in the middle of the room, upon a table. The directness and loudness of his voice has grabbed everyone's attention, and the entire room goes quiet as the gas and the smoke begin to rise through the shattered glass ceiling, clearing the hall for proper breathing and sight. The figure holds a box in their hand with several buttons. "I am Professor Westwood, I know you may not know me by my looks, but I promise you this is true." Westwood presses a button on his receiver box, and suddenly metal plating begins to cover all the doors, windows, ceilings and other exits. "We are now officially on lockdown. I repeat, we are officially on lockdown. Rocket scum, we have had enough of your crimes. We will wait for this amnesia to wear off, and then arrest you. We have had enough–"
BANG!
A gunshot rang out. It was too dark to tell were it came from. Westwood stopped talking. He simply looked down at his breast pocket, where a small hole now existed, as dark red blood began to slowly pour out. Everyone stood completely frozen, too scared to move. Westwood fell to his knees. "Curse you...Team Rocket..." were his final words. He presses a button on the receiver box which causes it to short-circuit. Professor Westwood's eyes sparkled as single tears ran down his cheeks. He took one last look around him, took one last breath, before he stopped moving...forever.
Everyone was frozen. Westwood was dead. And with those security measures in place but no receiver to disable them, they were like mice trapped in a box. In addition, all of them had since been affected by the memory gas, and no one could tell who was who. Finally, as if they had been warming up just for dramatic effect, a few florescent lights flickered on that gave enough light to at least see where you were going. As everyone looked around, they saw nothing but horror. The building itself was completely destroyed; rock, wood, carpeting, and insulation lined the floors. Several dead bodies of both Team Rocket members and invited guests caught in the crossfire lay stone cold. Mewtwo's
Chem-O vat was completely shattered. And then, like a perfectly nightmarish centerpiece, lay Prof. Westwood. This was a warzone, and a deadly one at that. The realization of what was to come slowly hit some people as they fell to the floor and screamed.
Professor Oak took a deep breath. "I always speak too early."
WELCOME TO... WEREWOLF III: NIGHTMARE IN PALLET TOWN!
Da' Rules:
1.) Object of the Game
-The object of the game "Are You a Werewolf?" is dependent on what side of the game you are playing on. There are two main factions: the Werewolves and the Townspeople. Townspeople win the game when they have eliminated all Werewolves from the game. Whereas, the Werewolves win the game when there is an equal amount or more Werewolves in the Town at the end of a day or night. In some cases, more factions, such as independents are added to the game.
---For the purposes of this game:
----------Werewolves = Team Rocket
----------Townspeople = Gala Invitees
2.)Game Day and Nights
2a.)Game Day
-The game day is divided into two cycles, Day and Night.
-Unless otherwise stated by the mod, a Game Day will last 5 real days
-Each Day, the village will try to lynch a player. To do so, a simple majority of the Town must vote them out.
---Half is not a majority.
----------EXAMPLE: If there are 17 members left in the town, 9 people must vote for the same person to lynch them.
----------EXAMPLE 2: If there are 18 people in a town, 10 people must vote for the same person to lynch them.
2b.) Game Night
- Unless otherwise stated by the mod, a Game Night will last 48 hours (2 real days)
-After the Day update, the game enters the Night. NO ONE may post AT ALL until the mod begins the next Game Day
---This INCLUDES inactivity posts. Players who will have extended inactivity will PM the mod who will decide a course of action based on the circumstances
-During the Night those players with roles will PM me their actions.
-At the end of the Night, the Night Update will summarize the pertinent actions, and Day will begin again.

----------Offense one: Public Warning
----------Offense two: Replacement
---------------If a replacement cannot be made, a modkill will be done instead.

---First Offense: Public Warning
---Second Offense: Replacement/Modkill
4g.) As the mod I have the right to immediately punish the First Offense as a Second Offense if I deem the damage great enough.
4h.) If I deem you causing trouble with too many First Offenses, I have right to Replace or Modkill you
4i.) If the situation is deemed severe enough by at least three approved NintendoAge mods, bans from future games, or blacklisting may be applied to a rule-breaker
5.) Modkills
5a.) Modkills during the day end the day early with no lynch

----------First Offense: Friendly Private Reminder
----------Second Offense Replacement/Modkill
8.) Common Roles
- These will be listed in their most basic type. Any Moderator may make modifications to said roles if they wish. This just gives the basis for what the roles do. Roles may have modifications such as Sanity (Insane Seer, who reads Town as Wolf and Vice Versa), X-Shot (3-Shot Vigilante, who may kill thrice), or Wolf (ability for the Wolf Faction, rather than town).
-Townie (Vanilla Townie, Civilian). No Night Role, must use logic to find the wolves by what they say during the Day.
-Mason. No Night Role. May speak, at times defined by the Moderator, with another specified member of the town outside of the game thread. Usually defined as Town/Town aligned, but can sometimes not be so.
-Neighbor (Acquaintance). No Night Role. May speak, at times defined by the Moderator, with another specified member of the village outside the game thread. No defined Role Alignment pairing.
-Priest (Doctor, Angel). Night Role. May try to save one member of the village from Death during the Night. Whether this saves them from all attacks or just one is up to the moderator.
-Seer (Cop). Night Role. May investigate one member of the village to learn their alignment.
-Detective (Role Cop). Night Role. May investigate one member of the village to learn their Role Card/Abilities.
-Tracker. Night Role. May follow one member of the village to see what they do.
-Watcher. Night Role. May follow one member of the village to see who targets them.
-Vigilante. Night Role. May kill one member of the village.
