The Short Story:
I probably wouldn't have gone into the store but my girlfriend insisted it was ok, since we were trying to kill some time while we waited for the hobby shop to open up across the street.

I was looking into the display cases looking at the games till I got to the SNES games. I see the title pop out at me and I start to get nervous & my heart starts to race. I could hear my heart beat in my ears as I asked for a few games from the case, including this one. I saw the price tag and I honestly began shaking a little; I'm not sure if it was really showing.

I didn't bother looking much longer because I was worried the cashier, although an older women, might reconize the game & try to change the price before check out.

After checking out I was relived. I don't think many people know what this game is or its value. To most it looks like a common flight game but it's one of the rarest SNES games released.

Hell yeah!
I would argue it is the rarest SNES game "officially" released as a game.

I got mine in a lot of 40 games for $100 about 2 years ago.

An amazing SMUP!

CONGRATS! Do NOT let it go. i have held onto mine and will until I sell everything, it was a small enough chance I'd find it once.

The only other deal I have really found was 2 summers ago at a yard sale. I found a bunch of SNES games for $0.25. One of the titles was Earthbound. Sadly, during that time I was more concerned with making money so I sold it on eBay; sort of regretting it now.

Viper0hr - Wow, still a great purchase though.

I like to buy in bulk. Last Summer I was able to find a bundle for $60 at a different yard sale; the guy said he knew what the value was and wouldn't go any lower. I remember getting an SNES Complete with Chrono Trigger, Metroid, Super Mario All Stars & Rock n Roll Racing. There may have been more but those were the more memoriable titles.

I've been trying to head to the thrift & game stores more often but too many people are beginning to do resell because of Pawn Stars & Storage Wars. Everytime I head out now I see the same people grabbing up games. It's becoming a race now.

It's a reseller that sells sports stuff like custom coffee cups with Packers, Bears ect. designs & even things like swords. They have been getting into video games too. I guess maybe to branch their business.

To be honest, I wasn't really aware of the game until a week prior to the purchase. I was researching the rarest games for each system and I noticed Aero Fighters as one of the titles. I was REALLY lucky.

This is absolutely awesome. I LOVE that feeling of coming across something even semi-rare or collectible, hands shaking, flipping cart/box over to check the price...

That cashier was probably thinking "That kid got pretty excited about that grey plastic square back there!"

Congrats on your epic score!

Man, the luck it requires for this to occur--someone traded it in cheap, and the seller sold it cheap! That double-ignorance can be hard to find in this age. Really cool.

Thanks to everyones congratz. It's awesome to share my expeirence with you guys.

Also, I never thought about the double-ignorance aspect. It's a cool way to look at it. Makes the find even more rewarding looking at it from that point of view.

Edit: did not mean to post/quote this. Accidentally hit a few buttons in a row on my phone.

On topic, nice find!

Nice Find, in an era of massive pirating of this title... This game used to show up once every few months on ebay, now theres multiple copies per month, over half are pirates.. Why dont people check the boards before spending $400? Anywho, nice score.

Thats an insane find.

Hard to keep your cool sometimes when you find something so good, you almost feel like you're robbing the place. Try to pay and get out asap.
