prob done w/snes ladies. just realized i need to play life force  

I've played in the NES competitions a time or two. I don't usually start playing in them unless I know I'm going to be able to stick around. I always get hung up on the time involved, but I think monthly contests will be much more manageable.

Well damn. I completed the game last night with one death, but it looks like woRm did it without dying(and a better score), so my place won't change. I'll give it a few more tries, but it looks like I'm locked into 3rd place.

Completed no deaths. Looking forward to the contest this year! Played one month last year and I really enjoyed it. I hope more members compete this year as well.

I know I can do it. The only time I lose a life is to the yellow disc soldiers right before Bebop and Rocksteady. If I can get the drop on them, I can no death the whole thing. I never wind up with a very high score, though. Not even close to 1000, so I'll likely still be third place even if I no death it.

I guess if I do Turtles In Time again I'll have to do hard difficulty. Nice job guys, you've both secured a bonus point.

Gloves I haven't overlooked you, I just need an opportunity to be able to see your scores from my home PC. Or Stryphos will make the update.

I only see your Bowser Castle photo?  Did you upload the other 3 stages?  If so, I also can not see them.  Perhaps push all 4 up to imgur and re link them, then I can update your scores for you.

 

Well the good news if you change it to hard mode is I'll be secure in my position on the leaderboard  

 

Ah no, I didn't find the time to do all 4 sadly. I could probably play later today if the deadline hasn't hit. For now, please consider me as having not submitted a score for Mario Kart, only for Turtles.

I changed my mind, I think I'll do an attempt or two for fun.  The problem?  Figuring out where the Konami games are.  These are actually kind of a pain to open



 

I'd not feel right submitting an incomplete score just to be on the board. Since the deadline is tomorrow, I'll play tonight and get the other levels done. I'll probably still be last place lol, but I'll have some fun on the way.  

I added pictures to my post on page 2 but the pictures turned out like shit once I uploaded them to NA. Brock if you want to higher res ones I could email them to you. I also have videos which I might upload if anyone wants to see them.

I for one would love to see the videos.  It doesn't matter to me whether it's now or after the contest is over for this month.  Regardless, you are out of my league with this game  
 

Sigh. I really wanted to buckle down, dust off my SNES, and master those Mario Kart tracks. I reserved a spot on the first page like the cool kids. I had a vision of slowly improving on each course, slowly chipping seconds off my total time. But January has been an extremely busy month. I got some Game Boy games polished off during breaks at work, but free time at home is all gobbled up by my new adorable baby. No complaints and no regrets obviously. Maybe what I need is a portable SNES!

Anyway, I pulled Mario Kart up on an emulator the other day and slammed out some times just so I could say I participated. Did a few runs of Bowser Castle 1 to get the hang of the drifting. Didn't really matter   Hopefully future months will be better. Total time by my count is 6:15:07. Didn't even attempt Turtles.

Gah! I beat it without dying and didn't get a pic in time. I got distracted and forgot to pause. >.< Gotta do it again. Ending screen doesn't show lives remaining.

Edit: Updated. No death, 1036 pts. Unless I get bumped out of the top 3, I think thats it for me. My left thumb hurts, lol.

I posted the videos from the contest last year a while back and am planning on posting this year's as well.  I'm actually going for my best times on all 20 tracks with the goal at first to break all the Twin Galaxies records.  I think I've got about half of them right now.
