Haha, glad you guys figured that out.
You can also shoot fireballs at them if you get the stick on fire (not the fire the Trogs make).

That's all I can do this week. Limited time on a game I needed more time with, oh well. I still love Trog though.

Good luck to everyone else this week and the next couple weeks too. I'll try to be back in time for a participation point for Smash TV. Until then, I hope a lot of new blood shows up for the contests as well. Take care all!

Damn ookii, I tried for hours last night to crack level 30 and just haven't been able to do so.
I think your post will be good for a bronze medal this week - although I feel like you're going to post something even higher before the week is out.
(also love your animal friends holding flowers)

Am I the only one struggling with this game?
I feel like people are casually playing to high levels and posting.
I've been attacking this one hard and keep getting stonewalled.

I actually got that score on Monday but haven't been able to beat it since, so I figured I'd post it. Don't worry, I've played this game for hours as well (way longer than I normally play for these contests). Right now, I keep getting tripped up on Stage 15. I need to get through there without dying, but I end up losing a life and reset. I'm taking a break until the weekend. I'd like to get to Stage 40 if I can, but it looks bleak.

Glad you like the little critters on my desktop. The real star of the show was covered up by my emulator window. You'll see him next time

I knew I could do it! I'm very happy with this score/run, didn't have to pick up too many items throughout the game and my deaths weren't from me doing anything stupid. I could totally feel my heart beating strong near the end haha get's intense knowing you only have a few levels left!

Well played, Clayb1rd! Congrats! That will be a really tough score to beat, I think.

Santa's Naughty List - Week 4: Trog!
(Santa's predictions for the week's top 10 finishers)

1. CLAYB1RD: Already posted a virtually invincible score, but was my favorite even before doing so this week. He'll make up a lot of ground after sitting out Puzznic last week and should be back in the top 3 in the overall standings where he belongs.

2. arnpoly: Third place in the overall standings and juuuuuuust edged khog143 last minute last week to win Puzznic. I think he's hitting his stride and will put up a big score this week once again.

3. ookii_risu: Posted a Level 32 score already, Trog! Seems to be a game in Tonya's wheelhouse. A weekly top 10 regular, she'll climb up the overall leaderboard a couple of spots this week with a great showing.

4. Balloon_Kid: Current 2nd Half overall leader. Balloon_Kid is a gaming perfectionist - which may actually hinder his progress in the contest this week. Still, his finish at #4 will keep him atop the overall standings heading into Week 5.

5. arch_8ngel: arch has been hanging around Trog! all week - and like Balloon_Kid is a gaming perfectionist. If he posts a screenshot this week, it'll be a high one.

6. Caleb47: Caleb submitted his first score for the 2nd Half contests and it's a good one. Already at Level 24, my guess is Caleb will post an even higher one before the deadline. If he chooses to continue participating in the next contests, he should climb the Leaderboard quickly.

7. BriGuy82: A Top 10 finisher the last 2 weeks, BriGuy usually crashes the party late with a big score right before the deadline. Pencil him in for another Top 10 finish this week.

8. nes_pimp: Nintendoage's resident "playa" expressed nostalgic interest early on in the week for Trog! He hasn't posted a score yet in the 2nd half contests, but has expressed an old affinity for this game. He'll "pimp" Trog! For an 8th place finish this week.

9. TheFluffy (formerly known as TheDuffy5): TheFluffy has been improving their game each week and cracked the Top 10 last week. TheFluffy continues to improve and jumps another spot this week to #9.

10.  khog143: Although khog stated Trog "just ain't my steez" - he currently sits at #2 on the 2nd Half Overall Leaderboard. Even a "bad" score for him is good enough to crack the top 10 this week and keep the train rolling into Week 5.

BilltownSparty, gutsman004, EgasKrad, rdrunner and Thundercat08 are also in the mix.
Maybe LukeAF24's thread about trophies offered from 8-bit bishop and M-Tee will bring in more new blood before the Sunday deadline as well?

Perhaps, but these are my picks for the Top 10 Finishers for Week 4: Trog!

Damn, am I that transparent?  I'll admit, I've been doing a lot of restarts for this game, but I do plan on besting my current score at the very least by Sunday.

I am shocked I got this high of a score.  My previous high before this was level 16, and that was after a lot of trying, so I have no clue where this came from.  I can say that this will definitely be my last attempt, since there is no chance in hell I trump it.

Khog - in my opinion level 36 and 37 were probably the cheapest level, once you get past those the rest shouldn't be too bad

I would LOVE to see that playthrough!!! My problem is I go to punch a trog and they eat me. It's like me punching does nothing.

This is very thoughtful of you to put me second, however it is way too high!    I haven't spent near as much time playing Trog as I did playing Puzznic.  But you never know!

You've got to punch them several times quickly. And even then sometimes they are able to sneak in a quick punch. What I hate is when they punch you as soon as they come out of a teleporter. You literally get no time to react. It's just get punched and die. Those teleporter levels like 9 and 10 can suck on deez.

Ummm maybe I need a new controller. I only die when I go to punch them, it doesn't matter if I chase them or wait for them they get me.

Agreed. Watching them devour your dead body for 5 seconds is infuriating.
Although the game is well done, I won't be playing this again.

Glad people seem to be enjoying the Naughty List too.

...and does anybody else hear a part of the NES Ghostbusters theme in this games music?

Kinda sorta but not really. Lol.
