The transaction system has really evolved into something that's truly useful and a great asset to the site. I've had times where there were multiple deals going on with different members, it's great at-a-glance to see where things are.
Having the deals "speak for themselves" by sending automated emails is useful for me, since sometimes I forget to check up on things, but I'll always see an email.
