Just picked two of these up on the cheap today and will never go back. I think I am in love.

Features:
An identical D-pad to the standard 004 controllers
Separate turbo functionalities for both the A and B buttons
A and B buttons are identical to the 004 if not even more responsive.
The controllers corners are rounded
It is bigger, which is good because we are all bigger than we were in 1989
It has a headphone jack
It has a volume switch for the headphones
It has a switch that enables a sort of faux stereo sound

Interesting. I'm all for it if it doesn't feel like a cheaply designed 3rd party controller. It sounds like its not judging by your description. I'm also really wanting it now because of the headphone jack option! How expensive are they?

Looks exactly like what the original Famicom controller should've been.

I thought Hudson made the joycards though. Then again, it might just be the whole "card" thing in the name. Hudson loves their cards....

I just scooped up one of these at the flea market for $8.00 and I LOVE it as well, I think the Head phone Jack with the Stereo effects are hilarious and I love it! It feels good and has a super long cord too!

There is a BIN for one on ebay for like 8 bucks right now. I had same apprehensions as you but man this thing is awesome.

Beeshu isn't something you hear much about anymore it seems.  I loved them back in the day (I almost never used stock controllers on any system).  They had some intresting options for controlls.

I just bought an ultimate off shopgoodwill, guess I forgot about what the joystick looked like.  It was actually missing part, and of course, no returns for their stuff.

The Beeshu Zipper is Almost as cool as this one... but it is missing the headphone jack and Faux-Stereo awesomeness

Sorry Mr. Wunderful. I think Sansui is my one true love. But the zipper looks like an awesome buy if someone has no interest in the sound features of the Sansui.

Ok I'm confused. Who makes this controller, is Sansui the maker (They are related to Akai, who made my old plasma tv) or is it Hudson ? I'm seeing people mention Hudson in the name.

I am confused too... The back panal says "HUDSON SOFT LTD" on it in big letters but under that it says 'Made by Sansui Fukishima Co.'

Just another case of Hudson being involved in the background.  I'm sure someday we'll find "designed by hudson" somewhere in the human genome, and when you study the bible long enough, you'll decode the hidden message "and special thanks to Hudson" somewhere in it.

Those Sansui controllers ARE the best hands down. I basically grew up using these. My uncle had a pair for his NES and those were the only ones Id use. I've put many hours in with those controllers and they're still my favorite today.

Well... Sad news. I bought 2 of them and only one works. I popped open the dead one and some of the stalks have popped their solder and come off of their traces. It looks like somebody tried to glue them back down. Anyone with a soldering gun should be able to fix it. Anyone want this thing? Just pay for shipping and toss me a buck or two and you can have it.

I might want a spare?  can solder the wires back.

I think these controllers are kickass. I own 1 and was planning a review when I had more time.  They are well made, turbo and headphone port! Totally underrated.
They are slightly bigger than famicom controllers and are comfortable.

Hudson Soft is the secret or unacknowledged benefactor of so many great things in video games.

Had one of these, let it go before I moved without bothering to try it. You're making me wish I hadn't.

I grabbed one priced for $3 at a Magfest vendor booth a few years ago, I had the benefit of hearing how awesome these controllers are beforehand. That controller is probably the biggest hidden gem of NES hardware.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

lol, I had a beshu zipper. We used it for 2 player games. Was confusing to use when you are used to a controller. Would be good if we had the right games for it I guess but we didn't.
