I just realised I've only played and beaten my favourite game 5 times. And it's a pretty old game too. Not sure why. Same goes for my favourite film (think I've seen it about 12 times).

How many times have you played your favourite game or watched your favourite film? Do you think it's odd that others think their number is too much or too little?

Beaten super dodgeball about 6 or 7 times, and I don't have just one favorite movie.

I thought this was going to be about how often we pee.

I have beaten TMNT2 like 20 times at least. I think that's my #1 game.

I have watched Christmas Vacation what seems like 30 times.

I wouldn't find it odd if someone had done of these favorites only 5 times or so. If your favorite game is a more current one that is lengthy I would not be surprised if you had only played it once even. Something like Mass Effect I might consider my favorite series but I only played through those once. I know what happens so I don't have much desire to play them again.

If something is my favorite I don't really play it or watch it over and over. I fear that would run it in the ground or ruin it. Most games I play once. A movie, if I like it, I might watch again years later or watch it to show it off to someone else. I can't really do that with games unless it's super short or I first played through it as a kid and I'm curious again if it holds up 20 years later.

I've proabably beaten Majoras mask 6 times, but it guess it depends on the game. Seiken Densetsu 3 is one of my all time favorites, but i couldn't imagine going through another big RPG like that. Or somehting like FF3 or Treasure of the Rudras

Favorite game is Xenogears which i've beaten 3 times. Have beaten other games more like Mario RPG a good 5 or 6 times. Xenogears is one of those ones like FF VI or VII i just wanna play back through every 5 years or so.

I dont know if i could nail down a favorite movie at this point. I sorta have favorites for different periods in my life. If you asked me as a kid it probably would of been Jurassic Park which i watched countless times. Highschool it was probably Fight Club or American History X, now adays maybe Turbo Kid which i just watched for the 4th time the other day!

Im definitely finding it harder to watch movies multiple times as an adult. I use to rewatch movies like back to back days when i was younger. Now it takes alot more to get me to want to watch anything again. So 4 times for Turbo Kid is quite alot for me these days!

What are the favourite game and movie in question, Tone?

For me, it's gotta be Contra, and between 1988 and now I've probably beaten it between 250-500 times. Just for good measure my favourite movie is The Shawshank Redemption and I've seen it probably a dozen times.

MM3 I honestly can't even tell you how many times I have beaten that game, there were times when I beat it 5 times in a week or more.

As for RPGs or something with length though I think I've beaten FFVII 5 or 6 times.

Across all versions I've beaten Final Fantasy 1 over 100 times easily. I played it a number of times on NES as a kid, with many different teams. I even did an all white mage team, which sucked lol. I also played a bunch of times on PS1. It was when the absolute madmen put it on Gameboy Advance that I really destroyed it, playing many times over while commuting to work, or at work, or in bed, on the couch... Everywhere. Back when I was a security guard I would sit and play FF1 on GBA over and over again, for the whole year I was in that position. I love that game so much.

I don't know how many times I've beaten Super Metroid or Mega Man 2. Mega Man 2 could honestly be around 100 times. It's one of those games I normally play through whenever I play Nintendo. My favorite movies would be Dawn of the Dead and Empire Strikes Back. I've seen Empire tons as a kid... not sure about Dawn.

I knew I forgot something! Favourite Game is Metal Gear Solid. Favourite Movie is Aliens. Been meaning to try Twins Snakes.

Forgot about genres of games. I guess for some, playing an RPG through once or twice is enough.

I have played Dark Wizard, Nectaris and Brigandine innumerable times - lots of things to do and different ways to play. Probably at least 40 times each - but wouldn't surprise me if a lot more - especially Dark Wizard.

I have probably played 5 seasons of mycareer on NBA 2Kwhatever -year-it-is every year since 2K8. Other than that, I beat Super Mario 64 a few times as a kid and 120 starred maybe 3 times since. Not a big movie guy...

Super Mario World, probably close to a hundred times, ever since I was a kid I've played it multiple times a year, on SNES, then GBA, then emulation, the virtual console, then when I started collecting it was the first game I got. Favorite movie is Tremors, watched it maybe ten times.

I think genre makes a difference, if you can beat castlevania in a half hour it makes sense someone has beaten it more than a 30-40 hour rpg

I would say I've beaten Double Dragon 2 over 500 times at the very least and I believe that to be a conservative estimate. I am one of those gamers that doesn't play a shit ton of games, but will play the ones I like until the cartridge wears out. The faster and easier to pick up, the better, hence Double Dragon 2. Contra III would be another close contender.

I've beaten Ocarina of Time over 30 times if you include the various different versions (3D, Master Quest, Master Quest 3D, etc.) I've beaten each US release twice at least (100% runs and three heart runs) and I beat it typically once a year. I think on the N64 as a kid I beat it five or six times. I don't have an exact count, but 30 - 40 seems accurate enough.

I played Contra so much as a kid, I used to close my eyes in elementary school and do practice runs in my head.

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.
