Missing 3's eats up more clock. At my best, I don't miss.

That's why I literally dunked every shot because I rarely missed those. I'd anticipate and usually steal the inbounds pass, dribble a few times depending which guy I stole it from, then dunk. Repeat.

Well, guts, you scored 160. That's 80 baskets. Times 3 that'd be 240. Limit the missed steals, and 250 doesn't seem all that unattainable.

I know,it's just seems that way. I'm not good at the three point shot although I'm sure I could be with a bit of practice. I just thought shooting threes was more of a time drain so dunking for two was what I thought was the speedier option and the route I took. I'm just surprised that shooting threes doesn't burn more clock.

Yeah, I thought about it some more, and 250 might be a little of a stretch.  225 to 230 should be about right.  If you're able to steal the ball and basically be right there within a few steps to dunking, you're probably scoring more baskets than shooting 3's.

I should have hit at least 200 a few times, but I just couldn't finish.  You miss a steal, run the length of the court just to pass it back down and miss a three pointer that they somehow are able to rebound and run the length of the court again, you're losing close to a minute off the clock.

Yeah, missing a three definitely can set you back a good chunk of time. Even though you didn't get 200,the score you got is still pretty impressive. Geester holding the cpu to 14 was pretty awesome as well.

Looing forward to the video too. One thing I don't like about the game is the cpu's ability to pass the length of the court after the inbound pass. The player can only pass as far as just off screen max. This allows the cpu several quick uncontested baskets. It always seemed like the hotter I got, the more the cpu would do that.

In Tecmo NBA Basketball (far superior game) you could pass the length of the court.  Another pain was passing too early and going back for a penalty.  It's strange that it doesn't happen every time though.  I guess the refs can't see everything...

Oh, and you definately brought the heat on me.  I had taken a picture of 163 with 1 second to go but the last second 3 pointer went in, of course, so it put me at 160.  We'll see how I do when I make the video.

Alright, I went home early from work with a 101 degree temperature, and instead of going right to bed, I made a little video for ya'll...well three of you anyway.

This was actually my third full game. I had a phone call during the first one, got a measly 187-32 in the second, and finally ended with this...well, I'll let you watch the video. Enjoy!

Very nice. You're definitely better at stealing the inbound than I am. I shoot from the same spot, but have a 2nd spot on the lower side of the court I can pop off quick 3s right after a steal. That sucks how it ended. You deserved that last score

Very nice! Everything in that video is what I was doing except for the three pointers. If the cpu somehow got down the court and I stole it,it was 3-4 lightning quick passes then dunk and usually there's a guy near the basket. I actually played a few games only taking shots from that exact spot but I would miss too much for my liking and just went back to dunks I think on my best game I may have missed 6-8 total, but I almost always got the rebound and the two points. Next time we play this I'll try this method instead.

Thanks.

So, watching that, and seeing my mistakes, and missed shots, you can understand that at least 230 wouldn't be too far off. I missed 8 shots in the first half, so depending on how quickly I would have been able to steal the ball after making those shots, I would think you'd be able to add at least 18 points to my first half. I scored 60 in the third, so getting 250 is definitely doable.

Well your score is safe from me. I've been at the veterinary hospital for a good portion of the weekend plus my dog is going to have surgery tomorrow to remove a bunch of bladder stones and I have to take her up there at 7am.

Guts, how's your dog doing? Did the surgery go well?

She got to come home today. She had over 100 stones in her bladder, two of which were about the size of a marble. Freaking crazy. Had no idea dogs got bladder stones. She's much better now.
