Finally sat down and played a bit.  I made several attempts, but had only one get past Shredder.  Got so excited I lost all my health early in the next stage.

Oh well.  Great score, Doug!

BAM!  Oh what a difference a good night's sleep makes!  This is only the second time I've ever zero-deathed this game!  I'm also realtively sure that this is the first ever deathless maxout.

Figured out what I was doing wrong on Shredder.  He kept on staying at the same height as I was (which is when he can hit you).  I finally remembered overnight that you can make him back off by using your special move.  Wish I had thought of that sooner.  I had a bunch of attempts fail in this battle.

This one's definitely going on YouTube once I have time to upload it!  I figured out an easy way to take out Krang and my Super Shredder battle was loaded with close calls.  Hopefully it will be fun to watch!

Congratulations on the no death max out! I had a feeling that you would be able to pull it off.   I'm getting ready to give it another shot right now, but I've only had one max out game and I died 2 or 3 times. My best run was the one death game from the score I have posted, but I played the rooftop and Technodrome levels as safe as possible and ended up about 30,000 points short of a max out. I'll still try and see if I can pull off a last day miracle though!

Yeah, I just enjoy playing a game that I haven't touched in years. And Krunch, I remember only playing this with someone else so maybe that's why it was alot easier to play (and fun!). Either way, some sick scores by the top players.

Didn't really enjoy this one. This is the one and only time I got to the bridge! Congrats to you, Tom and Doug! By the way, how do you beat that blue turtle?

I can't believe I was actually able to pull this off. I'd broken a full on sweat towards the end of the Super Shredder fight, but I just made it on my last life bar. Whew, that was close!!

Nice job to both Tom and Doug for maxing the score and beating the game in one life. I can't wait to see your video, Tom, as I always lose a few lives at Krang and I'm interested to see how you beat him. Hmmmm, now I have to come up with some sort of tie-breaker since you both had the same number of lives, same amount of health, and beat the game in the same place. Will be a head-scratcher for sure

As for Doug and Tom, you two are on your own planet. Congrats to both of you.

Tom accomplished the feat first,so I say he should get the nod, even though both feats are equally amazing.

I would have easily been in the top 10, as I did this for the semifinals last year, however I was in California all week and unable to play. Props to everyone else though for doing a great job.

On a more serious note, I've played EarthBound today for so long, I feel all tense and mentally worn out.
Then you called your mother and felt better?

Why not just give them both first place points? It won't make much difference in the long run.

Thanks for writing. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email during this busy time of year.
In regard to your email, it is great to hear that you have found a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. Perfect dark was a first person shooter game that was released in May of 2000. I personally enjoyed this game a lot during my mid-teen years since it allows for up to four players to play at one time. All the Perfect Dark cartridges were black.

I hope this information is what you are looking for.

-
Response I received from Nintendo customer support when I asked if they knew any thing about a black Perfect Dark cart.

And as an aside, I'm sitting on my score. I'm really getting frustrated with this game. So, if someone wants to take over the third place spot, go for it.

I'm not sure if this helps or not, but there was a three way tie for first place in last year's Golf contest:

T-1st: -14 58 – 2Legit28Bit +8 points
T-1st: -14 58 – guillavoie +8 points
T-1st: -14 58 – lospunchados +8 points
4th: -3 69 – bearcat-doug +4 points
5th: +4 76 – TWarwick07 +2 points

PARTICIPATION

+7 79 – bimmy_lee +1 point
+8 80 – Krunch +1 point

Since 2Legit28Bit, guillavoie, and lospunchados all tied for 3rd place, all three of you will split the points for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places (combined total of 24 points) for a total of 8 points each.

Personally, I think that in the event of a tie in any of the top 10 positions, it would be easiest just to give each person the same amount of points allotted for that spot instead of dividing them up. These contests are supposed to be just for fun anyway, so I'm not really worried about it. Whatever Bimmy decides is okay with me.

Eh, it is for fun but it's also a competition. In my opinion, the fairest way to deal with it is to give Tom first place for first submission, then go from there.

Anyway, congrats on the great scores! I guess I should play this thing today... too much going on and I finally have some free time.

And, here it is. I think I have played this as a kid, because I recognize the music. Just once and out for me, though. One of these days I'll play it with my roommate.

Ha, I just noticed this post. I'm all for it, as I haven't played it in a bazillion years and I really loved it as a kid. That should give me some motivation to play it throughout the week

Here's mine. Kind of an embarrassing boss to die on, but I did get beat on pretty good shortly before reaching this point, so I didn't have much room for error.

^Heh,at least you made it that far. I'm just going to let my score stand. If I get bumped out of the top 10,then oh well. There's other battles to fight.
