Did you get a sealed NSMBU + Luigi U? Since it was only available as a "bundle," it may be super hard to find sealed. I remember seeing one at Game-X-Change, but alas in a generic case...

I only have one sealed Wii-U game: Super Luigi U. That green case was too cool to pass up. (but I played the DLC version)

He definitely has it. It's in the first pic on the bottom shelf third in from the left. Now the question is if it is sealed or not

Have you stuck to your $20 for 3rd party rule of thumb?  There are a few 3rd party games that I would pick up for $20, but haven't seen them get that low.

How is he missing out?  He said he has doubles of the games he's interested in playing, and from the bottom pic that looks like 20+ of them.

Wow, looks great!

That's gotta be tough to keep up with. I'm surprised you even went after the Skylanders dark editions but I suppose if you're going for all variants, you gotta get them all.

I broke it for a couple. only one recently was Watch Dogs. It dropped to $30 after sitting $50-$60 for a long time and decided to jump on it. Other than the infinity and skylanders sets (i bought the normal sets on black fridays for about $30, had to pay more for the special ones though), i think there were maybe five that i paid over $20 for. There are still a couple i want to get to play mainly pikmin and mario 3d right now. I still holding out hope of finding the two variants sealed so i can have a complete sealed set. In addition to the nsmbu which i can buy anytime if i don't find it cheaper (my Wal-Mart has like 25 copies still), i neesneed the Gamestop Exclusives of assassin's creed iv and rayman legends. Just bought them used to complete the set and figured i could play them then if i ever end up finding them sealed great.

Don't forget that since the Japanese games have a different rating system that anything rated Cero C or D have the black border which just look bad ass (I know you aren't going for imports, just sayin'

Yeah, not doing import variants. I've been throwing around the idea of trying to get the exclusives, but I would worried about sealed for them and from what I can tell, there isn't a way to region unlock the wii u yet, so I may hold off on doing that.

Yeah I don't understand, you would save so much more money getting most of those later on.....it's good to get "some" stuff now, but a lot of items are full on retail still.

Maybe a bit. Third party games sealed start a bit high and all seem to drop to $19.99 and stay there. First party games don't seem to drop at all. So you really can't wait too long or you are then dealing with re-release possibilities. Of course I'm only talking about new copies. CIB is a different ball game

Nice collection you have there! Wii U is a cool system, I only have about 10 games, since mine mostly just collects dust, but I do want to pick up a few more soon. Anyway, congrats on a (as of now) complete Wii U set!

...But how many have you played? :-P

It is pretty lame when price charting has many games sales frequency listed as "Rare" for New copies. Random games like Hello Kitty kruisers, lego city undercover, transformers, Spider-Man etc.

The system is going to be ugly to collect for down the road

Outside of the first party games I play most of my collection was picked out of clearance bins at $10, or less each and I have around 100 titles. Kmart, Best Buy, Amazon have all cleared out various titles. Just have to keep your eyes open.

Just a head's up to all Wii U collectors...just got back from Best Buy (keep in mind I'm in Alberta Canada)and picked up Assassin's Creed Black Flag and Batman Arkham Origins. Both listed at $19.99 but I guess they have a deal where you get 25% off if you buy two games on clearance, so they were $14.95 each. Of course they weren't marked as clearance, so I don't know what else is on clearance.

Just a head's up in case people want / need these two games.

I'm starting to close in. Probably less than 30 games now and most are shovelware I refuse to pay more than $15-$20 for. Although, there seems to be a couple games that I never see around however they're still pretty cheap on eBay. Mainly the fitness, skylanders, and kid games I have to track down now.

I don't think this will be too bad to collect for down the road. There will be a couple games that are going to be a little bit pricey but even if some of the garbage games have low print runs no one wants them but collectors. There are plenty of uncommon games on NES, SNES, and 64 that don't sell for that much even though they are 'rare'.

The fact that price charting is listing Lego and Spiderman as rare is a joke. Most likely just a script and it's non representative since the games aren't that old. I just got a second copy of Tank from eBay a couple weeks ago for $25 in an auction. People just need to chill instead of dumping money into a BIN auction.
