Hey all,
My name is Liam. A little about my self to start- I am 22 and currently unemployed so making the start of a collection rather difficult. That said i was taken out of work by my docter and its unsure when or weather i will be able to start up work again in the field im qualified to work; Elderly and physical+metal diablility care due to bi-polarism so i am looking for tips on budget collecting as it stands right now. Im hoping to sink a store job in a new local Retro games stores for the time being as this will help immensly.
I grew up playing the Genesis at home and a SNES at a friends house; beast of both worlds. I have been looking for a SNES console for a while now but never really gave the idea of collecting much of a though till now.
I realised recently the reason i havent yet found a SNES is because im a little picky with what i buy- Looking around online for CIB SNES bundles without yellowing led me to auction sites and collector sites all across the web and the idea was planted. I decided i want to collect SNES as im a big "j"rpg fan, huge zelda fan and have just always loved the console. Not to mention being a hige fan of pokemon games, specifically red; which i remember playing via a GB connector of some sorts at said friends when i was only knee high.

Im mainly here for community, but also guidence. As mentioned im a collector on a budget and help in that direction is something anyone could use im sure. I found this particualar forum through googling SNES in my local area and it threw up a members profile from here, who is set as living in my local area and collects SNES CIB, i have PM'ed him and maybe that will hopefully start me down the track.

If you see me around the place say hello im sure ill hang around a while and any tips and guidence will be higely appreicated at this time. This is a bit of a scary and exciting place to be; looking out at the start of a long journey but i know everyones been here and some where probably under half my age when they started so wish me luck most of all

See you all around guys,
Liam.

Welcome Liam. Sucks to hear about your job. Just listen to your doctor's orders and prescribes to you and you should be able to work in that field again. Plenty of people work jobs with untreated bi-polar disorder. It's not as uncommon as you'd think. Nothing dangerous or odd about what you have, so work in the mental disability field should be no problem. If anything, this will make you more desirable due to personal experience and understanding.

Welcome, fellow JRPG fan. They are expensive to collect though.

Welcome‚ I read that you are looking for tips on budget collecting. You picked a great season to start. I always buy on a budget but anyone here can tell you that yard sales are a great place to start. Just go with 25 dollars or so in pocket. Just don't be picky when buying just grab large lots for cheap. Then resale or trade up for what you want. And this is probably an obvious tip. But a tip none the less
