Please, just call me GamePepper or Pepper because I hate my first name deeply.
Well, pretty much Angry Video Game Nerd, Nintendo Power and something I don't remember inspired me to start collecting NES games.
I did grow up mostly playing on a crappy computer, and it couldn't run anything 3D so I mostly played NES games on some online emulator site. Nowadays if I even play on an emulator, it feels rather "crude." My brother and few friends just insisted that I should get a joystick, use a TV as a computer screen or something to get the retro feeling but that isn't how you do it.
You're play it from a sofa, bed, armchair or whatever with the console in front of you, not on a computer
Because there are no ways for me to get money quickly, my NES collection will expand rather slowly and on top of that, I have to buy a new bass guitar. That just sucks.
Oh, and I don't think I'll be very active here until I get my NES and my games. It'll take 2 weeks maximum.
I'm thinking about buying these for my first batch of NES collection:
- 1x NES (comes with 2 controllers, Zapper, SMB/Duck Hunt, Tetris, Silent Service and Soccer)
- 1x NES Advantage controller
- Super Mario Bros (box and manual only, for the SMB/Duck Hunt)
- Super Mario Bros 3 (CIB)
- Legend of Zelda (Loose, the common gold cartridge)
I was originally thinking about buying every Super Mario Bros for NES, CIB but I swapped SMB2 for Zelda.
Zelda was not as abundant as SMB2 in the web shop I use.
Currently, I'm aiming to have a copy of every NES game released in Sweden and Finland.
