Interesting. I am going to check all 3 issues of GP this weekend as well as the month before and after, see what I can find out. I have at least 1, not sure if any got torn out on my end but will report my findings.

Just in case you weren't aware, Gamepro has a list of ads in the last 3 pages or so of every magazine. The Earthbound ads are listed under Nintendo.

Just joined to add that my issue of #146 includes a 'Power supplies catalog, summer 2001'. It's stuck to the paper so I cannot open it but at least it's included.

I had a quick question maybe one of you can answer since this is the Nintendo Power thread. Sadly when my house was broken in to last year, one of the few things that was stolen was my storage bin of Nintendo Power magazines that I had subscriptions to for years and years, so I can't really check what I am looking for. I was wondering if anyone can tell me which Nintendo Power issue had a list of people who had sent in pictures of Goldeneye 64 completely beaten on all difficulty levels. In an earlier issue they had asked for a picture of the TV screen along with the 64 in the picture showing you are using no gameshark or anything like that. My name was on this list and I would like to at least get that issue again. Thanks for any help guys!

*EDIT* - Actually, I will just make a new thread instead of getting this thread off topic.

I've noticed a few variations concerning the Newstand and Subscriber editons during the last few years.

One of them is #260. The list at the top of the thread indicates a Mario Poster. I have a Suscriber edtion with a silver cover but no poster.
I've seen a sealed newstand version (different cover)that included a loose poster outside the back cover.
I've seen an auction for an opened copy of a subscriber version that included something different.
Can someone show me what came with the silver covered subscriber version?

#274 is noted on the list as a Holiday Special. It appears that is the Newstand version (red cover). There is a subscriber version numbered 274 with a Resident Evil Revelations cover.
Are the pages inside different?

#282 looks like there are 3 different covers. A subscribers cover and a newstand cover with a white cover and a black cover.
Other than the covers are the subscriber and newstand versions the same?

#285 (final issue) looks like the posters are different between the subscriber and newstand versions.
Can anybody show what both sides of each poster looks like?

Are there any other significant cover or insert variations not noted on the main list?

As much as I'd love to own all of these, I'd rather spend money on games... with that said, are there electronic versions of each issue? Format doesn't matter... epub, pdf, whatever... I'd like to spend some time re-reading through these for the first time since a kid. Thanks.

Are you including the mail in things to become a subscriber, too? Because I recently just went through my entire collection, double checking all my extras to get the ones that were complete displayed, and from a lot I just bought I had a group of mags from the 150s up to the low 200s it looked like the guy kept subscribing, but at a point never actually read them. And I mean, they have everything still in them, including the little paper inserts that were just stuck between pages.

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

Hello everyone, long time, no posts for me but I think I can help with one issue.

I was lucky enough to find a Nintendo Power #163 on ebay which was still sealed in the original plastic bag. The reason it was sealed in the bag is that between the back cover and the seal were two items that I haven't seen mentioned in this thread. It has an insert with an Animal Crossing e-reader card attached, it's a promo card with "NES LINK" on it in addition to "PR" in a corner of either the front or back of the card. The other item included inside the sealed issue is the Gamecube Preview DVD.

It all started by trying to find the promo NES LINK Animal Crossing e-reader card for my collection which at the time, was going for a lot of money loose, not even attached to the paper insert. So, I did some research online and found out that it was included with a Nintendo Power issue which I later found out was #163. I then sent a message to everyone on ebay that was selling the magazine and not only did nobody have it but I was told a number of times that the magazine didn't look like anything was missing and questioned if I was sure it was included with the issue. I actually wasn't absolutely sure but I then checked completed ebay listings and someone had it sealed with a picture of the back showing not only the Animal Crossing card but also the GameCube DVD that I didn't even know about. I asked them if I could buy it but they wanted to relist and did so at $9.99 with free shipping on a one week auction. I had my snipe set up and thought I wouldn't even have a chance but I ended up being the only bid and got the sealed zine for 10 bucks shipped.
GREAT DEAL!

I hope this helps someone out. I still have the Nintendo Power sealed so I can confirm with no doubt that not only did this issue come sealed in a plastic bag but it included the two items mentioned above. The pictures shown are of the two items that are included with issue #163.

Does anyone know why there was an alternate cover for Issue #68?

All of the copies I've ever had came with the "Bonus Issue" cover, but I noticed a few copies on ebay missing the Bonus cover and guessed they might be newsstand copies.

Just a correction I believe, but the cover of Issue 6 is not Manhattan Project. It's the original TMNT game

Issue 33 is the Manhattan cover.

Edit: the chart by shortstop444 has it correct, but the OP and daillest have it wrong.

Sorry  Also I don't think keeping track of subscriber inserts would be very time effective for me  I feel it's a very minimal thing to keep track of that would be very tedious to organize.  By all means if you want to though, feel free to post your findings here.
