Gotta say, this thread has been really helpful for uncommon/rare wii titles for me, ton I've grabbed for cheap from local shops that have had them forever, this set is going to turn into a nightmare later on.

All I do is speedrun Megaman X games honestly.

Great!  Glad it's been helpful.  Now is the time to pick these up for cheap.  I agree, could be a big pain later on.

October 2016 (Week 2)

Wii Game Count: 31 Games (#1029 – 1060)
Bought From: Online, Garage Sales, Hastings

It's been a month since I've updated. I'm still chugging along at the set. Much of my time has been dedicated to working on my new shelves and entertainment stand. It's coming along nicely and I hope to have it complete by X-mas. Some good highlights this time around. Some rare games and some nice special editions. Also Halloween! (more on that below) So many pics...

Group Shot:

Highlights:

Notes
Super Mario All Stars/Kirby Dream Collection – Both these are awesome special editions. Kirby is the more valuable of the two. If you want the games for cheaper they have been reprinted at Nintendo Selects.
Pikmin 2 - Speaking on Nintendo Selects. This game has really been holding its value. I believe this is the only game in the Wii library that just came as a "select".
GTI Club – Current copies on ebay – 3. This is a hard game to find and when it does pop up, its almost always a $30 plus title.
Let's Dance – Current copies on ebay – 0. This super generic Wii game is super rare. Why you may ask? Well look at the publisher "Maximum Family Games". I swear that company ordered the bare minimum when publishing titles. Almost anything that comes from them is rare.

Halloween and the Wii

All month long I'm posting pictures of Spooky/Scary/Halloween type games for the Wii on my Instagram. It's been a bunch of fun, search "Nintendotwizer" if you want to stay up to date. I'll post what I've done so far here, and I'll update with the rest later on.

Random other stuff:

Since we are the subject of spooky type games. Watch Ash Vs. Evil Dead, it's a great show. I'm a long time fan of the series.

Last month I gave Capcom a hard time for the IGN logo on Okami cover art. Well they don't exactly have an awesome track record on this sort of thing.

They misspelled the 3DS spine for Revelations and they forgot the Wii logo on Darkside Chronicles (the only Wii game not to have this). These were both fixed in later prints.

One last thing. Looks like Hastings is going out of business nationwide. So if you have one, make sure you stop by. They will only be open for another week or so. Everything is 70%-90% off. I picked up these games:

Total paid $27.83. Total saved $383.38. Ha, that's a receipt worth keeping.

Rad pics, NT! Is it snowing in Wyoming already? Snap.

Also, just recently watched the first season of Ash vs. Evil Dead. Sweet show for any fan of the series. I feel like I like it even more than the movies.

Edit: Also, re: your pickups, I love that Kirby colleciton. Absolutely one of my favorite Wii titles; just a quality collection of games, bonus elements, etc.

Awesome pick ups man keep it up. I'm more impressed at the speed you are able to build up your collection after the great "purge" haha. But kidding aside you ever think of doing a collecting "speed run" that we be awesome 😊.

I didn't have to.  I knew I had the logo without even checking.  I got the two pack of Chronicles games from Goodwill a while back (still sealed) for $5, but if the logo was missing from the spine, I would have noticed that right away.  Oh well, the compulsive side of me is glad to have the logo since it would look funny on my shelf without one.

@laddersandcakes - Yeah Wyoming is a strange state when it comes to weather. We've had major blizzards in late September as well as late May. That said we also get day in December that are 60+ degrees. It's all over the damn place.

@abrahamh2 - Ha, thanks! I guess this is more or less my collecting speedrun page. Although thats not really my goal, it just sort of happens.

October 2016 (Week 4)

Wii Game Count: 150 Games (#1061 – 1211)
Bought From: Nintendoage, Ebay

A massive haul this week! Special thanks to Questyen here on NA as he really helped me on the final stretch of this set. According to my notes I am now around 50 games away from a complete set. We will see if I can finish by the end of the year.

Group Shot:

Highlights:

Notes
New U Yoga – Around six copies currently on ebay. I would mark this one as uncommon.
PDC World Champtionship Darts – Copies on ebay – 0. This must have a been a low production run. It's quite rare. Check amazon though as they still have a few copies.
My Personal Golf Trainer – Copies on ebay – 1. This is an odd game. I think it must have mainly been sold in golf stores or maybe elsewhere online and not normal retailers like Walmart, Target and Gamestop.

My lord, that is incredible.
What are you going to focus on after this?
I'm guessing WiiU, as it is in a way a natural progression?

I'm not sure yet whats after Wii.  I'd like to go for Wii U, but I don't think the time is right.  Maybe after the Switch has been out for a couple years the Wii U games will be bargin bin.  Thats the time to do it.  Maybe GBA.  It's another big set, but the games are cheap and don't take up much room (loose).  Quite a few fun games in the library.  It sounds like a interesting system to collect for.

GBA is a cool set too! The most expensive one is still only like 100 I believe? A loose set might be a pain to display though

Yeah, I think you are right.  Nothing to crazy expensive.  I have a list of rare GBA titles I was working on two or three years ago.  I may have to revisit that.  As for displaying the games, I have an idea for that.  Did you ever see my Gameboy and Gameboy Color display?

yes I have seen it. I just thought with GBA that lip that sticks out for pulling the game out would make it a pain the line up the games nicely

Yeah, you right.  I've been thinking about that.  GBC (clear case) games do the same thing to a lesser degree.  I think if I split it off a bit more, as in no more then 20 games per section, maybe three sections per row, that will help everything stay pretty strait.  Maybe I should be 1000 GBA cart sleeve to make everything sit nice.  Ha, I'm not sure yet.

Heck yeah. The nice thing about GBC CIB is they are so nice and square they the fit most shelves perfect. I made my GBC shelf because I pretty much had no other choice, unless I wanted to put them in a binder or something.  But yeah, I was really happy with how it turned out. I'm currently working on building an entertainment stand to hold all my systems. I've had the design in my head for a long time. It's my biggest project to date and currently 80% complete. I look forward to posting some pics once its all set up.

can't wait to see it!

My main thing is I want Singer to fit on the shelf too since it's part of the licensed set, so I can have everything together. So I thought it would look cool to have like the standard rows for games but on the bottom corner have a big square to fit that box, with games continuing next to it, if that makes sense. And yeah I think I'm going to have the carts in binders for easy access, with the boxes on display. Still have lots of time to think about it though, I'm going slow and steady
